tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 Your Dad was awesome. Toad ally! Adding oil to soup is good. It gives it body and I think it sort of bonds the ingredients.

Furballsmom Furballsmom I can never resist an invitation from a creamsicle!

M maggiedemi Whistle is very wise. Feral kitten don’t survive without being street smart.;) Banjo may have the edge sometimes but Whistle understood the advantages of taking food from a human first! LoL !

🌸🌿 See the contrast? A bright flower shows up best against a different background. ;)

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 It must have been great to grow up like that! Very special!

I started out to try and show some whisker variety. Lol Muffin seems to have grown a mouse tail whisker from her head!

Lots of happy, lush whiskers on very fine cats! Of course it's no wonder, because they know they are TOGETHER and they know their mom loves them so much!

I had one like that, as well. He wasn't just a father, he was a DADDY. There's a difference. I really think that there were kids when I was growing up who befriended me to get close to my Dad.
My oldest and best friend and I say we had great parents. We did. They're pretty uncommon, too. Both of mine came from very dysfunctional situations, for various reason, and worked hard to give me the best life they could. I thank them every day for giving me that life and those life lessons, which inform my life in so many ways.
I watch a lot of true crime shows and know a lot of people, including some in my own extended family, who were not as fortunate. We are shaped and informed by our elders, our peers, and everything we experience. I'm sure you are very grateful, Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 for your wonderful father!

I can relate. ;)

Good point. Better background, better shine. ☀

No fair! You just posted that pic to try to get me to hop on a plane, so I could snuggle my rainbow girl. ✈

You certainly do look a lot like your son, Whistle!
I thought that was Whistle! Mitzy has the same "knowing" look as her son. 😎

Thrasher!
Awww, I don't think I've ever seen Thrasher in a cuddly mood before. 😍

Prints is always the sweet little baby angel of the family. 👼

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 The kitties are greatly loved here. I hope they always have happy whiskers. :winkcat:
That’s amazing about your parents. Those who struggle elsewhere can find each other and produce greatness. They did. We do learn learn from all around us and all who come before us. If we are lucky we take that and use it to make things better.

M maggiedemi Or, a dark background makes the light stand out from the shadows. ;)
Muffin wants to know if she should plan to meet your plane. Lol Banjo will drive her.
Whistle and Mitsy do look a lot alike. Whistle is stockier and Mitsy more delicate.
Thrasher is really very cuddly. She’s very affectionate. She just likes her private time more than some of the others.
Prints is an angelic little one. He gives those adorable expressions! Talk about snugglers! lol

Like Mother, like son. Mitsy and Whistle decided to share. It’s just beautiful that in spite of being separated, and Mitsy having another litter, once reunited their bond remains to this day. Mitsy is still a bit of a nervous girl and Whistle still has his own fears but when they are together, they are calm, relaxed and happy. Ferals are very different than what many people are told. Mitsy is much smaller than Whistle now but he is still her baby. I can imagine that when he was a kitten, they sat together like this in their hiding place. Here is the proof of lasting bonds in ferals. Although many believe ferals are solitary creatures, they only separate to hunt or breed,( survival) otherwise they prefer to be together. As far as I can see, they can also remember each other, even after long separations. Perhaps their story is even more amazing because they were separated when a human drove Mitsy away , again when they were rescued at different times and a third time due to a failed adoption. I hope I can keep them from ever being separated again. I will certainly do my best for them all. Heart warming no matter how many times I witness this.

Mitsy and Whistle are so gorgeous together! Brown tabby and white is a beautiful combination of fur patterns/colors in cats, don't you agree?
Ear scritching is loved here, too, as is ear pulling.
Happy CATurday all!

Demi loves other cats....And toads, and raccoons, and apparently dogs now too. 😲

My Darlin' GIrl, I promise you that 1) most people we think of as brave are just pretending...which amounts to the same thing, and 2) you are stronger than you allow yourself to know. I have faith in you.

Speaking of brave, I AM BABYSITTING TONIGHT! Not sure how it happened, but...thankfully, the two little hooligans I am sitting with are somewhat in awe of me (not sure how that happened) and they SHOULD be asleep when I get there. Pray for me!

Jcatbird Jcatbird , I'm not the least surprised at the bond between mother and son. I see so much with my little band of ferals that people say is just impossible! Take, for instance, Austin taking over the kittens when their mothers push them away. Alas, I believe that Austin is now at the Bridge, although I can't be totally sure. I haven't seen him in a couple of months now, and I know he was around 10, an extreme old age for a feral Tom.

BellaGooch BellaGooch Mitsy and Whistle are the gentlest in nature. Even when they play it is gentle play. They don’t kill the toy mice, they prefer to roll a ball or toss it and catch it. They give the mice a bath! Lol They are a bit timid with certain things but the bravest of brave as well when needed. Mitsy braved the outdoors to go back outside in order to save little Wanda Heart from becoming prey. She scared me terribly by going out but as soon as she led Wanda Heart to the safety of the last feral shelter here, she allowed me to bring her back inside. A hawk was flapping wings just above her in the tree and yelling at me for bringing Mitsy inside I never would have seen Wanda Heart if she hadn’t led her here and then Lady hadn’t convinced her that this was a safe cat place. Mitsy was insistent that I watch outside even after I brought her back inside. She had NEVER attempted to go out before, nor has she since. The rescue of Wanda Heart was a very close call and all credit goes to the kitties. Amazing kitties!

rubysmama rubysmama Very good for the heart! These kitties are all furry bundles of love. I melt a lot as I watch them. I’m often just a puddle of Awwwww! :cloud9:

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I do love tabbies. Goldilocks has a true golden hue to her fur. Until I saw her I had only seen grey tabbies. Then Silver arrived and she was really a silver tabby. Or maybe silver with tabby markings. Lol All the colors are so beautiful.
Funny you should mention ear pulling. Lol Mackie is a big fan of holding his ear between thumb on forefinger and gently pulling upward over and over. I think he just wants taller ears. He paws at me if I stop.

M maggiedemi
;)
I think most people who do things others consider brave will tell you that they were scared. I am sure that Mitsy was scared going outside again and facing that hawk but that little orange kitten needed her. She faced the fear and was brave. You have faced fear before so you are already brave.
Prints would melt the heart of any who met him. He has a way about him. He won Wanda Heart and the girls when no other has been allowed to joins them long term. It’s that magic.
Demi is quite a kitty! Loving everything including dogs? That’s so neat!

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 Exactly right about being brave!
Dear Austin! I do hope he has just found a safe have somewhere. A hero cat to be sure. If he has gone to the rainbow, he is greeted with the greatest love. He already had angel wings. It is my experience that nothing is impossible. Especially with cats.

I was waiting for a phone call last night and fell asleep on the sofa.

Have you ever been asleep and felt that something was in the bed or somewhere near? I was asleep on my side and felt weighted down, especially on my shoulder so I reached for my phone in the dark.

BellaGooch BellaGooch For such a small girl, Mitsy has a huge , brave heart. She went to great lengths to keep her own kittens safe too. She led predators away and snuck back in the night to tend her babies. She literally dodged bullets to be with them.
Heroine Mitsy! Oh yes. Cats are very intelligent, sensitive, and caring. Everyone who truly knows cats and loves them, knows that. Whether feral or not, cats are extraordinary beings. Those of us who are honored by their presence in our lives are so fortunate!
Sounds like Mackie is a rabbit wannabe!?
Silver tabbies are absolutely gorgeous! You don't see many of them around. At least I don't. But all tabbies, like all cats in general, are gorgeous, aren't they? My angel Sahra was very golden, as was her relative, angel Tara. Their underpinnings were truly golden and their stripes were cinnamon.

Misty! Come and join us.

I think she really wanted just to be there with Whistle more than being held by me.

Then Purry took sniffing liberties! Lol

Although Mitsy was miffed by the sniff,

She stayed to snuggle with Whistle.

What fun, you reminded me of a cat-sitting some time ago, where I stayed overnight. One cat was a shy youngster while the other cat and I had some fun earlier in the evening roughhousing a little bit - this was the first time I learned how hard a cat can whack LOL
In any case, I woke up in the middle of the night with the shy sweetie sleeping on my hip :zzzcat:
