Can I just say again how much I enjoy your nightly cat posts. Particularly in these fearful times.
Thanks Jcatbird Jcatbird , and Banjo and Froggie for today's smiles. :petcat: :bicolorcat: 🐸 :heartshape:

We're getting flurries here today, so good thing I went out and took some crocus pics yesterday. Here's a few pics. They look a look like N NY cat man 's ones. Oh, and as you can see, the bugs were out too. Anyone know, are they bees, wasps, or hornets? 🐝

rubysmama rubysmama The Crocus have such lovely colors. The bees took purple back!:flail:I love that! Purple is yummy! The little crocus won’t let the snow inside. Smart flowers. Lol Still pretty to me.
If you smile, it makes the Clowder purr! Somehow cats always know.

N NY cat man I think you’re right. Honey bees. They are going to bee eating high on the hive!

tabbytom tabbytom Can you imagine if we could gather all these flowers together I’m one photo? Wow! An ocean of color.

Lari Lari Thank you! I laughed! Myrtle is the classroom pet? Did I remember that? I love turtles and I bet Froggie would visit Myrtle and , perhaps, take a ride? Banjo would be as fascinated as your babies. Have they tried to reach in the aquarium? Ugh! Wet!

I have a few more flower photos. If April Showers bring May flowers.... it will be glorious! I think we got an early start with that flood here. Having those extra gray days paid off with extra bright days of color. Nature has a way of giving back.

I am having a little trouble getting signals here but will be persistent. (Some would call it stubborn ;)) If I miss a step, just know that I am sitting here, phone in one hand, Flowers ( cat or floral version) in another, a bit of fur on my face and covered in kitties. I’ll keep hitting the screen until I get through.Late at night has been working better.

The Mexican heather is cascading over the sidewalk.

The little lance leaved violet up close. Full of vitamin C.

I thought I would show just how tony the Sundew plants are compared to a finger. The little hairs on the leaves give a reddish cast.

The jasmine is now poking through the fence. It’s gone from the backyard and into the front so either way I go out, the perfume is present.

If you see this on a small screen it may not look like much but the violets are covering the yard. The really tall green stems are topped with tiny ,pale lavender flowers. They are toadflax. The breeze kept me from ever getting a clear close up though.

These flowers may look a bit like white clover but they are chick weed.Thousands of Flowers!

This is the sweet violet most people know.

Heart shaped leaves and sweet scent. Also , the flowers and leaves are edible. Not the roots though.

The wisteria is fully open now.

This one cluster is just in the edge of the swamp and I loved the color against an old fence post that has weathered to a soft gray.

Yes, she was in my classroom until yesterday, but as the feeding situation was changing, and I'd already considered bringing her here when I realized this was going to go past March, she's now staying with us.

My husband was worried about them trying to do that, so I went to the independent pet store that specializes in fish (though they have other pet stuff too, I just figured they'd know tanks better than Petco or Pet Supplies Plus), and got this metal mesh lid so Myrtle can breathe but the cats can't get in.

Hope it's strong enough if they climb on top, but if they fell in, I doubt they'd try again!

Lari Lari I used to have a tank as large as a bath tub. My cat , Baby, only took a swim once. She fell in by a very large filter and only then because she stuck her paw where a fish grabbed her fluff and pulled. The top held up under her weight but after that one dip, she viewed the fish from below. She flew out of the tank without any assistance from me. After that I covered the filter too.

You have a pet turtle?! 😯
My classroom has a pet turtle. She's now our houseguest with school closed until who knows when.

I suppose eventually she'll have to go back. My husband and the cats quite like her (as do I), but I feel as though she was offered as a donation to the school (along with the one in the third grade classroom), it's not fair to take her with me when I leave my job.

Or him. Myrtle might be a boy. And Franklin (in 3rd grade) might be a girl. We knew one of each was donated and weren't sure who got which.

Lari Lari The situation for Myrtle could be different in the future. Where does she take Summer vacation? The world of a turtle might be fluid? Students come and go so maybe Myrtle could graduate? I can just imagine the tiny little diploma now. Not to mention the graduation ceremony.

I googled and found diplomas for Turtle University!
I also found this.

Love all the flower photos! AND cat photos, of course!

Today we had this conversation:

Me: Oh, Hekitty, we're going to get an economic stimulus check at some point.
Hekitty: Good. I want a heated bed.
Me: You HAVE a heated bed.
Hekitty: Fine, then. I want another heated bed.
Me: We'll see. The governor thinks we may have to have a "shelter in place" order.
Hekitty: And this would be different from what you do every single day, how, precisely?
Me: :censored::censored::cloudy::bat:

I think it’s time for a report from the feral front here. I am having a little trouble posting and downloading. I hope this works!

Mountain Bear and Blue spent more than their usual time in the main part of the house today but Goldie still prefers to spend most of her time in their bedroom. When I noticed they had retreated again I went to give them their supper and close the door so Goldie can have her private retreat for bedtime.. I found this!

It’s about time my boys came back in Mom!

We have been sheltering in place. Some towns ordered it early but the governor ordered it for the state today. It looks like we’ll be spending a bit longer than some places but the quiet of the area in nice. I am seeing trucks on the highway.LOTS of Fed Ex trucks hauling piggy back loads. Supplies are moving.

Hekitty has cattitude! Don’t let her see the post tonight or she’ll be wanting a doll too! Another slave to command and dolls don’t talk back!

Ah, yes, I know the sweet violet very well, as I've spent many an hour digging them out of my lawn. If I wasn't obsessed with having a golf course green lawn, I'd let them stay, as they've one of the more prettier weed wild flowers.

Lovely to see pics of Mountain, Blue and Goldie again. :catlove:

They do summer school! Actually, I taught summer school last year so was able to feed her every day. We'll see. It may be mostly new students next year, but it's pretty soothing to have a class pet in a preschool classroom, and I don't want to take that away.

I mentioned quite some time ago, about all the toys Ruby has, which she from time to time pulls out to play with, and I said I'd post a pic next time she did it. Here's the accumulation from the past week. You can see there's still some inside her condo, but today is cleaning day, so she's gonna have to start all over again. :catman:

rubysmama rubysmama I know many people pull the violets up as invaders. Lol I bet that is quite a battle considering how they spread their seeds. You can actually watch the little seeds be shot off into the air when the pod is ripe. It’s pretty amazing to see. I discovered the process by accident while collecting seeds. I was looking at an open pod and suddenly, now you see them, now you don’t! What? I went to another pod and another and another. Lol At last I happened to be looking when the tri pronged pod acted as a CATapult. It launched them before my eyes. I have delighted in showing that to plant lovers ever since. I had a type of orchid called CATasetum that acted in a similar manner when launching pollen. Large enough to see, the pollen had a sticky exterior and at lectures I would fire the pollen at volunteers where it would stick to whatever it hit. It was a very popular orchid. Lol

Ruby! :flail:That photo is a favorite with me! Someone is having a very good time. I love the expression on her face. She’s a happy girl.:winkcat:

Lari Lari I can see why you would hesitate to take Myrtle. I’m sure the children love her and get many benefits from having her there. I wish all children could learn about respondible care for another living creature. That’s a huge plus! If Myrtle does reach retirement, perhaps another friend could take her spot.

No, they don't. However, if I'm fussing at Hek, she's been known to put a paw on my mouth!

rubysmama rubysmama , I am SO familiar! I pick toys up and put them away at least twice a day! It's like having a 3-year-old child who is NEVER gonna grow up!
