Try not to feel panic.
That was a bad panic attack that I had last night! I was feeling doomed! :eek2:

I spent some time in another country and the coffee there was amazing. Much thicker than American coffee.
What kind of coffee? I like Sumatra. ☕

The sugar used there was cane sugar and lovely. At that time I hadn’t seen cane sugar since childhood. It’s readily available here now and I prefer it.
What is the difference? Maybe I'll try it....in my coffee. ☕

Spring is slowly arriving up here in the north
The smell outside yesterday was so wonderful! I don't know what it was. I was never outdoorsy before my injury. ☀

Just a reminder we all need to remember to move during these days of social distancing and isolation.
Yes, after years of sitting around, I finally got moving this year. Silver lining of almost departing the planet. ;)

pearl99 pearl99 It’s hot here. I have the air conditioner on so I can sleep tonight. I’ll imagine I am crunching my shoes into your fresh layer of cool snow! :)
I’ll also imagine I am carrying an aromatic cup of tabbytom tabbytom s cup of coffee across the chilly night! Ummm!

Freshly ground coffee smells wonderful! I had a friend who owned a coffee shop and I used to help out there just for fun!

I'm sitting here with my coffee. I use cream and a little hot chocolate mix- I will have to try cane sugar. I use so little sweet in coffee maybe I can afford it.
I went to Europe once and in Switzerland I had the best hot chocolate I've ever had in my life. None compares.
March is our snowiest month, so there may be more to come!

Sunoco gas station has the best hot chocolate & cappuccino! We should make a coffee/tea thread. Anybody interested?

I thought my brain was going to explode this week. I tried a different brand of food and Demi threw an epic tantrum. He cried one time for every second of every day, which equaled one billion. So of course he wins. He gets his Purina back if he wants it that bad. OMG. :eek3:

and our dwarf crocus are in full bloom
I should have specified, my crocuses are the dwarf ones too. The regular ones will be a bit later.

Grass is getting greener under the snow.
We'll hopefully be out with lawn mowers soon.

It's hard not to feel doomed when you read what's going on around us. But remember we're here for each other. :grouphug2:

I'm not a big coffee fan, but I'm currently hooked on Maxwell House Cafe Suisse Mocha. Anyone who likes chocolate should check it out. Looks like this is the same one at Amazon.com : maxwell house mocha

Back in the day, I drank Navy coffee one of two ways- hot and black or cold and black. I believe that stuff would have made an admirable paint stripper, it was so strong. Alas, I haven't had any coffee for something like 35 years now- it gives me the yips, so I have tea instead.

rubysmama rubysmama This is a great time for our Flowers to start coming in. They are such happy things to have around. Crocus and daffodil bulbs don’t do too well this far south but I get a daffodil or too if we have a cold winter. I have always loved daffodils and jonquils. When we lived a bit further up, there were beds of both that had been there for generations. They had multiplied and when they bloomed it was like having a giant patch of scented sunshine! There was a Quince that bloomed about that time that was the prettiest red. Flower power!

The kitties are so smart. They always give mom good instructions. Lol

N NY cat man I wish tulips would bloom here. I do have some perennials to look forward to later. I don’t know what kind of wild flowers are near you but I always love seeing what pops up here. The birds are very generous and bring something nice each year too. Lol I love flower surprises! 🐦🌻
My Dad was in the Navy. He claims the coffee was used for other things. Lol Multipurpose. Keep the guys going and strip barnacles off the hull of the ships!

pearl99 pearl99 I guess the grass is starting to feel the earth below start to warm a bit? The snow will be watering it well a little later.

M maggiedemi I’m so sorry you felt like that last night. I know that many people are dealing with stress. I think a “Drink of the Day” thread could be fun for a bit. That could include coffee, tea, hot chocolates and so many yummy things, like juice mixes.
The coffee I had was a local coffee and not a named brand. It wasn’t prepared with a lot of water like we do here either. Simmered longer maybe? I didn’t prepare it so I really didn’t see the process. It was strong and very flavorful though.
Cane sugar is made from sugar cane. It isn’t highly processed like our normal white sugar. The flavor is a more like brown sugar. Larger grains and sort of a creamy color. It is also used in soft drinks/colas over there and they reminded me of the Pepsi and Coca Cola of my childhood. I brought a little of all those beverages back home with me. Hot sauce too. Also some Chicle. That’s where the base for chewing gum originated.
Maybe you could do a food and drinks of the world thread? Yummy!

So sorry Demi! Give Mom a break though. Lol A meow a second? Yikes! :running:I bet that added to the stress!:alright:

It was a sunny day today here. Clouds were moving in but the light was streaming in the cat room. The kitties were enjoying it. Banjo was staying in her usual spot.

Banjo?

Thought you might enjoy this little rescued street cat from Japan. His name is Iggy, and he has a CAT ON HIS MUZZLE!

View attachment 327244

Yes, it is real. It is not photoshopped. You can find him on instagram.
Yes! I completely love that kitty! That is darling! It made me think of Emoji. He didn’t have a mark like that one though! Do you think he’s been sniffing too much catnip!
Very cool kitty! I am still smiling. When that kitty smiles the cat must take a nice stretch!

M maggiedemi We used to have Sunoco here but I haven’t seen one in awhile.

I can’t have much hot stuff now. Peppers are on my “Not allowed” list. I rebuilding what I can eat though. Maybe I’m the future!

I think we all need a BFF of the green kind. 🐸

N NY cat man The garden is gorgeous! I bet it smells as pretty as it looks. Did Digger help to plant the bulbs? :) Purrfect photo. Thank you!

Furballsmom Furballsmom I did enjoy those. The art work altered to include kitties is more priceless than before IMHO! “Mother and Child!” “Girl at Fountain!”

tabbytom tabbytom The colors are wonderful. Very relaxing, calming photo. I’d like to spend some time just sitting there.

It was a very gray and cool day today. The temperature was nice so I took another stroll to look around.

It’s kind of hard to get a good photo of bright red flowers but this azalea is so pretty, I gave it a try.

This is a different kind of azalea. It’s a miniature and blooms with little bouquets of flowers.

The color of the day flowers is really pretty.

This is a variation of the dayflower and I love how the flower edge is dark.

It’s very peaceful here right now.

As rescuers we often talk about how to trap a cat. We never really talk about how a cat traps a human! They are better at trapping than we are.;) They have rescued me! Time for some smiles?

If you want to catch a wild human, you must be very quiet.
7FE8C98A-3C0F-4313-89B9-7186C593DBB0.jpeg

Don’t look them right in the eyes!
A4F2E837-8AB4-40E2-9FB9-7F5995AA66AB.jpeg

Stay very still and camouflaged while they eat but let them get used to your scent! Use a treat they really like to lure them in. Some humans like potato chips.

Keep your paw on the trigger remote and be ready.

Once you have the human you’ll need to socialize them. We find that sleeping with the human allows them to get used to us.
C088874E-1639-4E5C-9577-59E967F68E39.jpeg

You should be still the first time the human approaches to sniff you.

Humans respond well to purring....
5F568AAA-5921-496D-B276-D8D76B34FCFC.jpeg

They prefer it if you speak softly to them.
E82F4F49-DBA8-4193-84C4-52E92F154CA6.jpeg

Remember, you may have setbacks as you train them....
7C934F0A-A2AD-441D-9C7C-CDDC858F596C.jpeg

But never give up! They make wonderful and very devoted Pets! They also show lots of love and gratitude to the cats that save them.
BBD26DBE-B393-4277-A3EB-1CF8BBF01566.jpeg

We find it’s well worth the effort. They aren’t the best hunters but are very good at opening cans.

All true! :flail:

A cats point of view. We humans are just confused about who saves who!

Have a great night everyone and mind your cats! :heartshape:
