tarasgirl06 I’m sorry the ear plugs aren’t an option. The guy in the dessert was a bailiff? Some think they are beyond the law. One officer that came here at the height of my problems got into some trouble. There’s one in every bunch I guess. Sad and frustrating.
Just to clarify, you can buy peel and stick cork squares, similar to what you put on floors, on Amazon for about 11 dollars a pack. I put mine in foam board which is a dollar or two and just placed them at the window. Eventually the kittens clawed them up but they did help. If it’s not something that happens often, it may not be worth the trouble though. Actually , I guess you could make thin ear muffs some way?!?! Still, maybe more trouble than help.

My brother sent us a gift today. It’s a Beckoning cat! It’s a black one. He tells me that the black Beckoning cat is for good luck and to ward off bad spirits. It waves one little paw at you. Maybe it will end the “Murphy’s law?” I don’t know if that will work but I do know that Banjo has an opinion. (Doesn’t she always? )

Jcatbird Yeah, the guy was a real "rugged individualist" type. He even had a sign on his front fence that anyone who wasn't a "cowboy" would be castrated Maybe that was his idea of humor. It wasn't mine, needless to say.
We have a black Maneki-Neko, too. I bought it for my mom. We both collected Maneki-Neko. It's the kanji (the letters/word) that is the indicator of what each one is for, not necessarily the color.

Banjo certainly has a lot of little friends!

I've missed you guys. It's bee a rough couple of days.

HOWEVER...New Year's Eve was interesting...not a single firework, but LOTS of sirens. I've decided that the Usual Suspects, having gotten to drunk to flick their Bics, decided to get in their cars and drive, instead. I'm good with that. I DO NOT drive, and certainly would not on New Year's Eve, and Hekitty doesn't mind sirens in the least. Fireworks, on the other hand, send her into a frenzy.

It looks like we have Maneki-Neko twins. Perhaps we are covering the country with good fortune for kitties! At least,I hope that’s what it means! I did wonder if it was one that brings wealth since it appears to have a pot of gold. Of course any wealth here still goes to kitties! Lol Banjo is a gentle girl so she does make a lot of friends. No doubt though that frogs are favored.

Sending vibes!!!! I am betting you are right about the celebrating and the sirens since you didn’t hear fireworks or fire trucks. Some people don’t know when to stop! Driving on certain holidays is a risk.St. Patrick’s day in the city is bedlam! I stopped going to work in the city on that weekend because of the accidents and other things I find unacceptable. That was a nice holiday when I was young and celebrated by families. Now it’s an excuse for drinking green beer! Yuck! I stay far away now.

Sometimes I wonder how many funny things I miss around here. It was a very busy day but I sat down for a few minutes and was rewarded! Once again, we have a tattle tail among us. Lol The kitties always help me out.

Yeah, to say there was no welcome mat out is an understatement. Their favorite pastime was riding their horses around and target-shooting. Blanks, they assured me. But blanks make the same noise as live ammo and the first time I heard it I almost came out of my skin.
The upshot of their story is that I heard from the folks we bought from, whom I stayed in touch with for some years, that the wife left him as soon as their two kids were old enough to fend for themselves. She did a runner. Apparently she was afraid of him. Probably for very good reason, judging by the very little I knew about him by way of first impression. Though I didn't like her either, I always hope she got away safely.

N NY cat man Definitely Darwin Award material. DEFINITELY. *It's kind of sad that there are SO MANY of those in this world, innit?*
And oh, yes, St. Patrick's Day. Like almost all holidays here, just another excuse to commit mayhem, usually alcohol-fueled and sometimes also (other) drug-fueled. *My male roomie loves his beer. He doesn't need a holiday.*
