I’m still doing work on the house. It’s nice to have it but it sure takes a lot of upkeep. Having the trailer here too is double the work but it did come in handy when I had a lot of kitties to seperate. Lol It’s nice to have everyone spayed and neutered now. Boys and girls can all be together.

Having kitties is wonderful but sometimes they can worry us or give us a bit of a scare. This morning I was fixing breakfast for everyone and serving it when I noticed that Banjo wasn’t eating. She left me and her dish to start meowing like crazy! What’s wrong Banjo! I ran into the great room to see about her and found her doing this......



She was in an odd position and her tail was fluffed!

Thank goodness! I was relieved that it was just a spider she was yelling about! All that for an itsy bitsy spider. Banjo!
I did not get her the ladder ( Banjo loves the ladder. Any excuse to climb it. Lol) so.....she fussed until the little spider retreated. She ate her breakfast a little late today but it didn’t include arachnid.

Now I know what MEOOOOOOWYELL means.

Whistle slept through it all. Smart boy.

Meowling is always disconcerting, but there's always a perfectly good reason for it, even when we can't figure out (being but lowly human types) what it is.
Spiders on the ceiling are instant sources of comment here, too. As was the gigantic water bug type who was in here for approximately a month before I found him or her again and escorted him or her outside. (S)he was certainly going to become a snack if I didn't.

Yeah, I believe it's true that we cat lovers are programmed to respond instinctively to mews, meows, yargles, yowls, yodels, meowls, etc. just like those who have/love babies respond to their vocalizations. If I'm out and I hear a meow of any kind, I'm instantly tracking it.

Any suggestions from anyone as to what would keep this tough, smart girl happily occupied? She can’t keep carrying the tool belt because she keeps taking all the cat toys apart.

Is it any wonder that cats know how to work their humans?!

Well, Mickey is a VERY rich mouse so I suppose he has a lot of expensive ways to escape when he wants/needs to, don't you think?

A storm just came in. I went to close a window and several of the cats were in the window or on a table below the sill. The kitties were watching the trees blowing and bending in the wind when a lightning bolt flashed and immediately after it, the thunder boomed. I was nearly knocked backwards by an entire Clowder of flying cats! House cat or feral, their instincts remain intact!

I opened the front door but left the storm door shut. Storm or not, curiosity remains intact as well. Lol


It got dark outside!

The rain pelted the door so Lady looked to find out what made the noise.

The kitties sniffed the wind blowing in under the door. Note the position of the tails! All tails held low.

Some kitties approached with caution.... from behind the door.

Thunder made Lady streak away like lightning.

As one kitty left, another moved in.

Precious made Purry do the looking this time.

More thunder made Precious leave and Purry hide behind the door.

Banjo was the next one to investigate the smell.

When Purry saw she was safe ,he returned.

Lady wanted to come back but....

Staying behind the door seemed a better idea.

Banjo tried to open the door.

She was going to face the thunder beast.

She found she couldn’t open the door so....

She faced the beast through the glass.

The beast growled at her but she was brave.

Whistle came to back up his sister.

Lady decided to stay at the edge of the door.

Mom warned the kitties that they should not try and go outside. Lightning is dangerous! Coincidentally, it was at just that moment that it happened! Oh my!

Wow! Look at that Mom!

Banjo and Mitsy were surprised! Whistle couldn’t look.

Are you okay Purry?

I’m fine! Why?

Purry is fine but the sight was a bit of a shock to the rest of the kitties. It’s amazing how light reflects from kitty eyes!

The storm finished passing with all the kitties staying far away from the door. They were all enlightened.Their curiosity was satisfied.

Good night or good morning everyone! We’ll hope the kitties have a sunny day tomorrow.

Lady dressed up in her cutest harness and made lots of sales. Who could resist this sales Lady?

I would have tried to get a good deal on Lady...or steal her.

It was a fitting end to a day of sunshine and old friends sharing their lives. It left us all with a warm glow.

That sounds perfect....

She is already a bit of a show off but I’ll tell her. She loves compliments and the dress.

Maggie loves compliments too & little songs about how pretty she is.

it really isn’t Banjos’ style at all. She’s so smart. She didn’t flop over or try to avoid having me put it on her. She knew she could easily remove it.

I can't believe Banjo got the harness off herself! She's so smart.

What a brave clowder! That electrical smell is always disconcerting to me. I did used to love watching the electrical storms in the Mojave, though -- the lightning would be different colors and it would flash all the way across the mountains. I'd have the door open and watch through the screen. It was a great "light show"!
Is that good paint? I'm always interested in what people think about different brands.
