Meowling is always disconcerting, but there's always a perfectly good reason for it, even when we can't figure out (being but lowly human types) what it is.I’m still doing work on the house. It’s nice to have it but it sure takes a lot of upkeep. Having the trailer here too is double the work but it did come in handy when I had a lot of kitties to seperate. Lol It’s nice to have everyone spayed and neutered now. Boys and girls can all be together.
Read to the end. A smile awaits. I think!
Having kitties is wonderful but sometimes they can worry us or give us a bit of a scare. This morning I was fixing breakfast for everyone and serving it when I noticed that Banjo wasn’t eating. She left me and her dish to start meowing like crazy! What’s wrong Banjo! I ran into the great room to see about her and found her doing this......
She was in an odd position and her tail was fluffed!
View attachment 289489
What’s wrong my girl?
View attachment 289490
Wide eyes! She was upset!
View attachment 289491
She kept tilting her head back and meowyelling!
View attachment 289492
She kept looking up....
View attachment 289493
Turning her head to one side.....
View attachment 289494
Then the other........
View attachment 289495
She stared! I looked where she was looking but saw nothing. The ceiling in here is vaulted and really high. I scanned the whole thing. Nothing.
View attachment 289496
She gave me a very serious/ disgusted look.
View attachment 289497
Whistle wasn’t up yet. He was dreaming of collecting shiny round things to play with.
View attachment 289498
Banjo found that unacceptable. She tried to wake him but Whistle kept snoring.
View attachment 289499
Finally I figured out what Banjo was saying when she attempted to communicate with me again. View attachment 289502 I followed her gaze once more as she gave me instructions.
View attachment 289500
Mom! Get me the tall ladder. This is serious and I have to protect you!View attachment 289501
There’s a spider on the ceiling!
View attachment 289503
Thank goodness! I was relieved that it was just a spider she was yelling about! All that for an itsy bitsy spider. Banjo!
I did not get her the ladder ( Banjo loves the ladder. Any excuse to climb it. Lol) so.....she fussed until the little spider retreated. She ate her breakfast a little late today but it didn’t include arachnid.
Now I know what MEOOOOOOWYELL means.
Whistle slept through it all. Smart boy.
Have a great night/ morning everyone!
Yeah, I believe it's true that we cat lovers are programmed to respond instinctively to mews, meows, yargles, yowls, yodels, meowls, etc. just like those who have/love babies respond to their vocalizations. If I'm out and I hear a meow of any kind, I'm instantly tracking it.rubysmama You are very welcome! Lol I knew better than to show Banjo’s friend.
tarasgirl06 The meowing of any kitty gets my attention but certain tones are more serious sounding. When I saw Banjo looking up I kept thinking it could be an insect but I didn’t see it. Banjo persisted though. She kept telling me.....
We hoomans are a little slow.
Me too. I’ve been tracking mews since I was little more than a kitten. My poor Mom!Yeah, I believe it's true that we cat lovers are programmed to respond instinctively to mews, meows, yargles, yowls, yodels, meowls, etc. just like those who have/love babies respond to their vocalizations. If I'm out and I hear a meow of any kind, I'm instantly tracking it.
How about buying an aMEWSment park for Banjo? The whole crew could have lots of fun meeting Mickey MouseWell, it’s the race for the glasses. Lol Apparently there is a competition afoot.
Apaw?
I think this is what Banjo and BJ had in mind.
Who gets to play with the glasses?
View attachment 289594
They are mine
View attachment 289595
I’ve been tricked! These aren’t mine!
View attachment 289596
Heh, heh!
View attachment 289597
I’m sneaky.
View attachment 289598
I’ll put my scent back on them.
View attachment 289599
I’ve got the glasses! Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah!
View attachment 289602
She’s rubbing it in.
View attachment 289603
I’m gonna lick them too.
View attachment 289605
Ugh! They taste like BJ.
View attachment 289606
This just won’t do.View attachment 289610
Oops!
View attachment 289601
The time is right! Heh, heh!
View attachment 289609
Who has them now!
View attachment 289612
Never underestimate the BJ.
View attachment 289613
Rats!
View attachment 289604
Banjo! You are always keeping everyone jumping!! You don’t want a dress but you’ll snitch glasses or a spider. You’re such a funny girl. You can’t have BJs’ glasses and you can’t have a spider. Any suggestions from anyone as to what would keep this tough, smart girl happily occupied? She can’t keep carrying the tool belt because she keeps taking all the cat toys apart.
Is it any wonder that cats know how to work their humans?!
Well, it's not something we can help, though, is it?Me too. I’ve been tracking mews since I was little more than a kitten. My poor Mom!
Well, Mickey is a VERY rich mouse so I suppose he has a lot of expensive ways to escape when he wants/needs to, don't you think?tarasgirl06 Amewsment park!
I think I halfway have one now. Well.... maybe it’s more of a water park. Mickey Mouse? Hmmmmm. That could be very interesting. The chase would be on. Poor Mickey! How do you hide from this many?
It’s true that we can’t help taking note of the news..... mews!
MoonstoneWolf Treasure sounds like a kitty aware of neat things! Perhaps wants it as a beautiful collar and is trying to unfasten the band? Maybe concerned about being a bit fit?Maybe it makes a sound we cannot hear. Something like purring. Be careful or Tresure will do what Banjo does and hide it under the sofa. Lol
Burdock is the same way with my watch band. He will sink his meat hooks into my arm so he can chew on the band, and sometimes he gets me in the bargain.
I would have tried to get a good deal on Lady...or steal her.Lady dressed up in her cutest harness and made lots of sales. Who could resist this sales Lady?
That sounds perfect....It was a fitting end to a day of sunshine and old friends sharing their lives. It left us all with a warm glow.
Maggie loves compliments too & little songs about how pretty she is.She is already a bit of a show off but I’ll tell her. She loves compliments and the dress.
I can't believe Banjo got the harness off herself! She's so smart.it really isn’t Banjos’ style at all. She’s so smart. She didn’t flop over or try to avoid having me put it on her. She knew she could easily remove it.
Awww...wish I was there to give my Lady a cuddle.Lady decided to stay at the edge of the door.
What a brave clowder! That electrical smell is always disconcerting to me. I did used to love watching the electrical storms in the Mojave, though -- the lightning would be different colors and it would flash all the way across the mountains. I'd have the door open and watch through the screen. It was a great "light show"!A storm just came in. I went to close a window and several of the cats were in the window or on a table below the sill. The kitties were watching the trees blowing and bending in the wind when a lightning bolt flashed and immediately after it, the thunder boomed. I was nearly knocked backwards by an entire Clowder of flying cats! House cat or feral, their instincts remain intact!
I opened the front door but left the storm door shut. Storm or not, curiosity remains intact as well. Lol
It got dark outside!
View attachment 289695
The rain pelted the door so Lady looked to find out what made the noise.
View attachment 289696
The kitties sniffed the wind blowing in under the door. Note the position of the tails! All tails held low.
View attachment 289698
Some kitties approached with caution.... from behind the door.
View attachment 289702
Thunder made Lady streak away like lightning.
View attachment 289703
As one kitty left, another moved in.
View attachment 289705
Precious made Purry do the looking this time.
View attachment 289706
More thunder made Precious leave and Purry hide behind the door.
View attachment 289707
Banjo was the next one to investigate the smell.
View attachment 289708
When Purry saw she was safe ,he returned.
View attachment 289709
Lady wanted to come back but....
View attachment 289710
Staying behind the door seemed a better idea.
View attachment 289711
Banjo tried to open the door.
View attachment 289712
She was going to face the thunder beast.
View attachment 289713
She found she couldn’t open the door so....
View attachment 289714
She faced the beast through the glass.
View attachment 289715
The beast growled at her but she was brave.
View attachment 289716
Whistle came to back up his sister.
View attachment 289717
Lady decided to stay at the edge of the door.
View attachment 289718
Mom warned the kitties that they should not try and go outside. Lightning is dangerous! Coincidentally, it was at just that moment that it happened! Oh my!
View attachment 289719
Wow! Look at that Mom!
View attachment 289721
Banjo and Mitsy were surprised! Whistle couldn’t look.
View attachment 289722
Are you okay Purry?
View attachment 289723
I’m fine! Why?
View attachment 289704
Purry is fine but the sight was a bit of a shock to the rest of the kitties. It’s amazing how light reflects from kitty eyes!
The storm finished passing with all the kitties staying far away from the door. They were all enlightened.Their curiosity was satisfied.
Good night or good morning everyone! We’ll hope the kitties have a sunny day tomorrow.
What gorgeous pix of a beautiful LADY!I was dusting and got a couple of sweet shots of Lady. She tried to help by dusting with her tail but I didn’t want to have to get a dust bunny out of her fur. Lol
M maggiedemi I thought you would like these.
