I'm so happy to hear little Whistle is eating again. He's lucky to have his big sister to take care of him.
You must be right. Lol I love it. I hadn’t thought of that when I named them Funny how kitty names just seem to evolve but that really fits.Hmmmm...a thought. If his sister is "Banjo," perhaps his full name is "Penny Whistle," another little musical instrument.
Ya THINK??? Oh, I'd say so, but goodness gracious, don't they all deserve it? The kittens for being so stinking cute, and Misty for taking such good care of them under horrible conditions. I'll bet she's breathing easy for the first time in her life...or at least, since she was so cruelly dumped, if that's what happened to her.I think we may have gone from feral to a little spoiled.
You are so great to point out that they do deserve it...... poor kitties. They went through a lot before I got them. Terrified and half starved. Watching them fill their tummies is a pleasure. They used to eat a little and run. Now they can feast undisturbed, and they do.Ya THINK??? Oh, I'd say so, but goodness gracious, don't they all deserve it? The kittens for being so stinking cute, and Misty for taking such good care of them under horrible conditions. I'll bet she's breathing easy for the first time in her life...or at least, since she was so cruelly dumped, if that's what happened to her.
Now, that really warms my heart! You are on you way to having that girl and her babies safe!I am tired but wanted to give a great update on Thrasher. She let me touch her today. That is a first. It inspires hope for catching!
Yay Thrasher!
Just reading your bon voyage narrative to Cloud and Stratus made my eyes tear up a little, so I can only imagine how hard it is for you to send them onto their new happy lives. But there are families waiting to adopt them, and other kitties waiting for your help, so just just like a teacher, your "students" are graduating and going on to bigger things.
It is hard. Every single time. Lol You would think we would develop a hard shell, but I guess if we didn’t put our hearts into it then they wouldn’t adjust as well. It is always worth it. Thank you for the reminders rubysmama and Norachan . I always have to give myself a good kick in the pants because I know letting them go is best for them! They are probably getting spoiled already! Lol I have already started the next rescues. I found Thrasher’s other two kittens and fed them well. I will be pursuing them. I also got to pet two of the kittens that Flowers left here. Totally feral and were taught to run from me but when I call for them, they come running. I call them the little ducks because they proceed in a line like baby ducks. I suppose names will come soon. I also had more time to work with Mitsy and the last baby of hers, Nimbus. I have to get them ready by the end of the week. One last note on kittens, Kelly, the Calico Mom is one I am also getting to know. A recent arrival who has three gorgeous babies. The babies run but Mom comes out when I call. It’s a start. Rescuing means I keep moving forward, always in anticipation of holding the next cat or kitten. They're going to be fine. They're going to be absolutely fine and they're going to have the best life a kitten possibly can have, because you saved them.
I know it's always hard to see them go, but there are others out there waiting for their chance. Now you have more time and space to bring those ones indoors.
