Hello,

It is not all the time; maybe once every couple months or even weeks if that.

If my husband or I walk into the room, our one cat will attack our pant leg.

We thought it was initially if our pants dragged on the carpet and it was static electricity or something, but over the summer we pulled up the rug and there is hard wood in there now.

Is there anything that could be causing this?

He is 13 and is neutered, but has been doing this behavior since we had him at 3.

Just curious of why he might do it and what we can do to prevent it.

LIke I said, it's every few weeks or sometimes a few months go until he does it again.

I think he just tries to say" Heyy! Play with me!" or " Heyy! Where are you going without petting me!". My kitty is 4 months old and she does that to us sometimes. She just hides in a corner and when you never expect it, she just comes out of nowhere and jumps to our pant legs. I believe this is some sort of game for them. A way to get attention.
