Thank you for sharing your kitties with me!! That's the best picture everThat looks like totally normal play fighting to me! It seems like Nugget has a looot of energy, and boogie isn’t quite in the mood, and gave him a “not now” bonk.
I have a 3mo kitten and a 3yo cat, and she does that “butt attack” move on my 3yo all the time. Thank goodness he is the most patient cat in the world. He’s quite gentle when play fighting with the Kitten, and even though Kitten is often “dramaqueen” about being pinned down, she always immediately goes back for more.
This has been a very sweet read, keep us updated!
- editing to add that biting is quite normal in play play fighting. My older cat is practically my Kitten’s chew toy...
here he is being chewed on with a very “fml” expression

My older cat Boogie used to be quite lazy but has been more and more playful lately! Sadly I think they are still learning how to play together so we have to do several play sessions during the day for both of them! Sometimes Boogie would try to taunt Nugget and get nothing, other times Nugget would try to taunt only to be smacked or pinned by Boogie and then squeel or hiss. He never actually runs away far though, and Boogie just walks off like a grumpy man so I thought it's just part of the process. (It just happened once again while I was typing this reply lol) It's funny to see Nugget at over 1 year old acting like your kitten!
They're not close enough yet for either of them to become a squeaky toy for the other, but Nugget really loves Boogie, always greeting him and doing the whole body rub on him, while Boogie just sit there in shock I did catch Boogie give Nugget a little quick lick here and there though so slowly but surely!
