I got my cat a while ago, and he was really sick, so we took him to the vet. The vet said that he had herpies. He also said that the only way other cats could get it is if he has a break out. My cat also loves to be outside. I feel so bad, but there are other outdoor cats on my block. What should I do?

For his own protection, you should make him an indoor only cat.  If you want to train him to walk on a leash, then he can experience the outdoors that way.  As for the herpes, it spreads to cats whose immune systems are compromised and malnourished.  Herpes outbreaks can be controlled by diet and adding L-Lysine to his diet.

My vet said the best thing you can do for a herpes cat is excellent food.  This was a foster.
