Okay, this is a placeholder from your fellow nervous new pet parent. :D I have read about the hard lump near the incision being completely normal. I don't remember any of my cats having one because it has been 30 years between kittens. This is second hand information. My clinic warned me that it is normal for kitties to have a lot of swelling around the incision and that it can look very alarming if you're only used to dogs (and humans, I guess, but I still have all my female parts so I wouldn't know).

HOWEVER, if the area feels hot to the touch or if there is any sort of discharge, this could be a sign of infection. You are doing EXACTLY what you need to do by reaching out to the people here. The experts are busy with their own cats right now, but one of them will be along shortly so it would be good if you could get a picture up on the thread.

If you can't, the most important information to convey would probably be those two things: is anything liquid coming out of Spooky's incision and is it hotter than the rest of her body?

She's going to be fine either way, she just might need some antibiotics. :hugs:

Willow has canine "siblings" and I didn't separate them. Just supervise them. It's too stressful to keep families apart.
