When I was growing up, my parents had outdoor cats. 100% of the time we lost them to unnatural deaths. (coyotes, dogs, antifreeze, and that kind of thing)
I know that some cats really, really like to go outside. I get that, because my cat was/is one of those cats. But the outdoors is very dangerous for them and each time they go outside, it's a toss up as to whether they'll come home again.
