FINALLY getting some decent pics of PUddles (aka 'Kitten') as she's starting to explore the rest of the apartment. Winter (dog) is slowly starting to respect her boundaries and isn't chasing her nearly as much. I have her on a long leash, so all interactions are done with supervision. :)

And KITTY TAX! (Please ignore the state of my floors, LOL. Birds. 'Nuff said.)

I love Puddles' markings! Dilute calico and torbie - I've never seen that combination before.

(Oh - is that what's called caliby - calico tabby mix? Must be, she's not torbie ie tortoiseshell and tabby.)

I have more Puddles pix, this time sleeping next to my Italian Greyhound, Winter! Winter is hyperactive, so she's on a long leash until I can trust her around the 'kitten' (They're all kittens, no matter their age, eh? LOL!). Otherwise, Puddles is incredibly tolerant of the dog. Winter wants to play and will play bow and, yes, chase. I don't encourage chasing. Bad manners in my opinion. The early chasing's turned into following and sniffing. Lots and lots of sniffing. Then today I got these photographs of Puddles napping behind Winter:

YaaaY! Getting used to each other!! All I know about greyhounds is the obvious. Do they require extra walking to burn off energy?

Winter sounds like one of my sister's dogs! She was telling me today that Pepe (a Pomeranian) is absolutely obsessed with following and sniffing one of their friends' cats. Luckily for him this cat is extremely unconcerned about him, and will just head up to the roof if he gets tired of being followed, though he's given Pepe a slap once or twice. You'd think the silly boy would have learned his lesson after Maddie gave him a serious wallop a few years ago that sent him running (he never dared come near her again)!

You're brave to do have a cat with a greyhound! We fostered a greyhound and they had to make sure it wasn't prey motivated as they're often bred and trained to chase small animals. It looks like that isn't an issue for you! Puddles looks like she's fitting in well! Always so glad when transitions go relatively smooth. Congrats on the adoption!

LOL! Y'all are thinking of the Iggy's bigger cousin, the Racing/English Greyhound :D. They're lazy, but many do have a high prey drive due to their need to chase. I have an Italian Greyhound, which is classed as a toy breed. Italian Greyhounds were bred primarily to be companion dogs and probably to hunt mice and other small vermin. She's high energy and needs to work it off... usually, some playing with her toys and a 1/2 hr hike a day burns off most of her mischievousness. If I don't, the whole apartment turns into a race track. Oy.

And Thanks, everyone! I'm glad Puddles is fitting right in. Once I can get out and about, I plan on getting a second litter box so she feels she doesn't have to lay in her litter box.

Winter and Puddles were keeping me up a big chunk of my eve. Puddles was chirping and trying to get at a moth outside the window. Then Winter would wake up and try joining the cat in her shenanigans. **facepalm** Then Puddles came down and there was some Polite but firm swatting when Winter didn't back down. A glare didn't get her to move fast enough.

And Kitty Tax (Winter looks so conflicted in this first picture....):

And Puddles looks like she's queen of the world and knows it!
Loving all these new pics, they're so clear.
She does look like she's swallowed some gold, eh? LOL!

And Re: The pictures - Thanks! I'm starting to use my iPhone 14 for most of my pictures now. My 25-plus-year-old digital camera is starting to show its age. **Sighs sadly**

Such a shame when good cameras don't work so well any more! Best I had was an Olympus film camera. Bought it to go to England in '89. It took great quality photos.

I just wish iPads took halfway decent photos! I use mine far more than my iPhone.

Had to laugh just now - I'd been reading a different site on a second tab, but when I came back, Daisy was sitting on the iPad, with TCS open, and on the photo of Puddles looking like queen of the world!

OMG OMG OMG.. Puddles cuddled with me and the dog for about five minutes, before the dog decided to shove her nose in the cat's ear. Sigh. Got pix of her, post cuddle. Only took 4 weeks to get her to this point! LOL!
