Did she eat any of the dry food you left out for her? Is that what she threw up?
yes, I just edited the post, should have said this, it's strange that she didn't eat the dry food all day then just decided to hoe down on it?

Also, she's out in our little green patch now, looking for tasty looking blades to chew

Here she is, sunning herself in the backyard whilst I'm tearing my hair out, lol ...

That's what they do the little rascals. It's enough to make the sanest person loss their minds.

PS - She's adorable!!!

Looking forward to see what the vets says .... and hoping for good news for you both.

Good luck today!!!

PS - do ask about the gabapentin for any future visits. It can be so helpful to keep them less stressed.

Apptmnt is at 4.30pm, it's now 2.45pm here so not long to go, she actually ate about 30gr of her favourite dry food this am, it's very high protein but high calories at 34 per 10gr, I'll be asking the vet about it as well as Hills a/d
Will update when I get back

eta- she's peeing and pooping okay, but is very lethargic, seems to want to eat, leads me to her feeding station then won't touch the wet food but stares at empty dry food bowl until I weaken and give her some

I can't effin' believe it ( sorry!!)
Mitzi yowled and screeched all the time in her carrier in car and in waiting room, then transformed into into an agreeable and quiet patient when in the vet's room, vet checked her over, explained that the BT results and U/S didn't show anything serious and just advised me (as I knew he would) to reduce Mitzi's food intake and come back in 6 weeks for another round of blood tests ...
he gave me scripts for Omeprazole and Gabapentin and said to keep an eye on her and not to give her any more raw food as that was most likely acid reflux making her feel off
I'm to ring him if she doesn't improve ...
Anyway, when we got home (Mitzi caterwauling all the way), she went straight into laundry ( feeding station) so I gave her half a can of FF chicken pate and she scoffed the lot!

I must again thank the wonderful ppl on here who have replied to my posts and given me so much info',
I'd never heard of denamarin, gabapentin or was aware of cats suffering from acid refux, helps so much to know what to ask the vet

eta, she's gained weight! (8kgs) must have miscalculated calories in the small amounts I fed her, maybe I've become paranoid about her not eating every hour and overdone it, I'll be more diligent now and just feed her 3 times a with correctly measured amounts

XOXOXOX We are glad to be able too. I can't tell you the number of times over the years this place has given me great info to bring to the docs, or the right questions to ask them. so I understand better. It helps us look after are fury kids better.

I wouldn't panic over that. She's going to fluctuate a bit as the weight goes and it's probably going to be maddening to watch. Go slow. She'll get there. Too fast a weight loss is just as dangerous as being overweight. (As I think you know.)

Honestly weight her once a week, twice if it makes you feel better. Do it first thing in the morning before food so it's consistent and write it down.

You'll get there. It's a process so please try not to be hard on yourself about it.

You are doing far far better than you think!

Thanks, I wondering! on Tuesday morning, in desperation and thinking that I had nothing to lose, I gave Mitzi just a tiny, tiny bit of one of the
Zantac (ranitdine) tablets that I bought on Monday, then another tiny bit in the evening, the tablets are large @ 150gr and easy to cut into eighths, then just further chop off an nth ...
I had googled it's use in animals and found that it was used similar to famotidine, I wonder if that helped because the difference between how she was and yesterday is stark, never mind, I've got scripts for the good stuff now so feel that I'm prepared for the next bout if needs be ...

So far, all good, altho' I've had to use mirtza a couple of times so that she'll eat, guess this will be normal from now but once a week doesn't seem too bad, I'm afraid that I'll jinx myself by writing this as each time I think all is well, she stops eating ...

but yes, all good atm apart from trying to find foods which aren't full of crap, her favourite Fancy Feast is now made in Thailand and now most flavours have wheat gluten as first or second ingredient, she won't touch them and I don't blame her, must be like eating glue!

Thanks for asking :vibes:

I'm glad she's stable. XOXOXO No jinxing! It's all good. Slow and steady XOXOXO

You are doing wonderful!

Edit: as for the food issue - I completely understand that. It's really hard to find decent and affordable food. Sometimes i think the foods sold causes problems for them but it's a rabbit hole to go down... a big one.
