Hi everyone,

In the last two days, I noticed that my cat has been scratching under her chin very aggressively. When I checked, I saw a red bald spot, probably from the scratching. I know it’s not fleas, but what could it be? Does it look like ringworm? It’s not black, so I’m not sure if it’s cat acne. I would appreciate any advice, as I cannot go to the vet until next week

It could be acne, though other options include a healing injury, allergies, or even a cyst.

My cat is recovering from chin acne right now and it started as just a swollen area and then started losing hair. I've been using Chlorhexadine wipes to clean daily.

It doesn't really look like feline acne, but it's really impossible to know what it might be. You might try putting some Chamomile Tea on it to see if that helps. Use only tea bags (not loose tea) from the store, steep them, cool them, then dab a little of the tea on the area. It should help with the itchiness.

My 6 mo. Kifli has pale pink pimple under his chin (about 1/4 in. diameter.) I have switched their bowls to ceramic and will keep you posted on outcome.
