I am as mad at human doctors as I am the vets now. The doctors go back and forth. My mom's regular doctor said the leukemia was back, the cancer doctor said with her history he expected the blood count to be high with no more details which makes it sound like the leukemia is in remission, the emergency doctors we see say call the cancer doctor, my brother calls 3 times nobody calls back, now last night at the ER they say the leukemia is back, and she is at end stage of life and we need to get hospice. My brother went to the cancer doctors office and found out that dad misunderstood, or didn't hear correctly. She was never out of remission, they quit giving her the chemo because of her rapid health decline. Why couldn't someone at one of the doctors offices tell us this sometime during the last few months instead of driving us crazy.
I am sorry your family is going through this. We had the same issue with my mom years ago. They didn't communicate with us or as professionals with each other well at all.

Doctors are still going g back and forth. After the cancer doctor insisting that her problems are not related to the cancer, just the dementia, the reason the listed for hospice was progressive cancer. I am going to wonder for the rest of my life if we let them take her off her dementia medicine too soon.

Yesterday was horrible. We were talking about the free home health care running out in 4 to 5 months. The hospice nurse interrupted to explain why she didn't think we had that long. She thought we had a month left. My mom understood what she was saying and started crying.

I think her cats know. The tomcat used to hide behind the washer and dryer when I first started staying overnight. He is still scared of everyone else, but he has been tame with me. Yesterday they were both extra clingy. The one that wasn't always friendly even wanted to be picked up and held.
