One was adopted from a tenant in my building when I was very young and adopted out. The second, likewise. The others, 12, were former "community cats" 2 locations ago that my ex and I TNRd and adopted. We moved to another location and they of course went with us. Ex dumped us all and I had to find safety for them in a horrible emotional state. I won't go into all the details as they are very traumatizing for me, but I choose to always think and believe that they found safety and love. In reality, I will never know. Only one was definitely adopted upon reaching their destination in another country. The others were in sanctuary and I was providing for them monthly. In reality, we never know, unless we can visit them continually, how their lives are when they leave us. This is why I will fight with my last breath to keep whatever loved ones are in my care, in my care, as long as their care is good. When you had to rehome, did you have someone to give them to, or did you leave them with a shelter. If a shelter, know there's always cat loving people, like me, looking to give a home to a cat in need. I was also "raised from birth with cats", so also believe they are family.
Mr Fluffy Fluff's name totally suits him, btw. I hope he and you are helping each other with the loss of your precious Elvis.
It's so hot here that we are basically laying low. The forecast is for it to break tomorrow. Until then, we are quiet, and definitely mourning.
