Meet my Junebug

[Juniper_Junebug]

Hi everyone! I'm new here and a first time cat owner. Three weeks ago I adopted Tiny Juno aka TJ aka Juno aka Junebug. The rescue said she was 5-6 months, but she was less than 3.5 pounds so the vet thought she was more like four months.

I don't know her history, since she came to the rescue from a different feral cat rescue, and I took her in as a foster-to-adopt. She's obviously not feral and must have been socialized to humans at an early age.

Her first night home, she left the carrier immediately and within ten minutes, was crawling up on my chest and rubbing her face against mine. I knew she was mine right then and there.

I love the Russian Blue look (though presumably she's a DSH), and she's very affectionate but not overly needy. Most of the time, she has an adorable silent meow (though I know she can vocalize). Shealso meeps whenever she jumps. It's too cute. I try to play with her three times a day, since she doesn't have a kitty playmate. Now if I can only convince her not to climb my window screens.

Thanks so much for the welcome! I'm glad to have found this forum. I grew up with dogs, so cats are foreign to me. Which has been sort of fun, e.g., seeing her chatter at the birds. But I need all the resources I can get about keeping her safe and happy.

Welcome to you and Junebug. I have been owned by Suki just over 6 months. She is my first cat and we are getting used to each other. I too had lots to learn after two dogs. One thing I have found she really likes is the heating pad on low in a bath mat. I keeps her warm.
