A little update for you all! Haven’t been on the forum much as I have been very very busy, but Egg is doing well! He and Moose are the best of friends, they are almost constantly playing, wrestling, and/or grooming eachother. They are a little rough with eachother at times but seem to enjoy it so… boys will be boys lol. Egg keeps Moose distracted so Bitsy gets a lot more peace from him now and he rarely tries to wrestle her anymore (he mostly saves that for Egg lol).

Progress with Bitsy has been slow but she is getting more comfortable with him. She will hiss at him sometimes if he comes too close and she’s in a mood but is usually fine having him around. No more weird sulky behaviour from her, ect. They are all together full time now and have been for awhile, the more constant exposure to him really sped up the process of her getting more comfortable around him. Egg is an angel and remains completely unphased by her and has never reacted negatively to her grumpiness. I assume living with almost 300 other cats meant he got hissed at a lot and learned not to take it personally LOL.

He trills all the time and is a very happy boy. Sweet as always but he doesn’t cuddle me as much as he did when I first brought him home but will come sit on my lap/ask for pets once in awhile. I think his “favourite person” is Moose now lol. Still does the adorable head tilts. He will still gently love bite me once in awhile but hasn’t done any random hard nips in a long time so he’s definitely not as easily over stimulated and is getting more comfortable with touch. I can even get away with short sessions of brushing his teeth now.

How is Mr. Egg? Inquiring minds want to know.
Egg is very good ❤

He lost a bunch of his whiskers though because Moose chomped them off, they play so rough lol… HOWEVER Egg introduced “face chomp” affection to Moose soooo it’s technically his fault lol

HOWEVER, despite being the most adorable couple, the boys are total troublemakers. I accidentally left a bag of bread in my grocery bag out of the way up on the far end of my counter on top of the microwave (not somewhere the cats usually go, it’s a wrap around counter and this was the end they usually ignore) the other day and while I was sleeping they found it and tore it to shreds and ATE SO MUCH PLASTIC in the process.

Moose has pica for sure and will straight up eat plain plastic and yeah… I am usually so good about hiding these kinds of things but it slipped my mind and of course they got to it. I was devastated and have been feeling absolutely sick about it. They ate so much plastic. Like 1/3 of the large plastic bread bag, yet barely touched the bread once they got to it!!! So I’ve been on blockage watch for both of them the past few days and smooshing up every poop to make sure they are passing it. They both ate it I’ve found plastic bits in both of their poops but more in Moose’s than Egg’s so far. We are nearing the 72 hour mark now. They are eating and acting normally though Moose seems to be grooming slightly more than usual (not specifically his abdomen though so maybe that’s just me being crazy and hyper observant) but yeah I’m still super stressed and worried things will suddenly go south so I’ve just been obsessively observing them since. THEY ARE SO NAUGHTY. ADORABLE BUT NAUGHTY. All my fault though, I can’t let anything like that happen again because if they see an opportunity they WILL take it.

Here is the crime scene with detective Bitsy investigating. I didn’t even bother checking her poos because she’s much too proper of a lady to partake in such activities.

It would be funny but it really isn't. That does seem like more PICA than just "let's have a few laughs" kind of behavior. This is not a medical opinion, but with luck soft plastic may all pass through. I had a dog who did this kind of thing more than once, including eating a pee pad, and it all passed.

Oh it’s without a doubt PICA on Moose’s end. He has given me many scares since adopting him. He dug a bunch of wrappers out of the garbage, ate them, then ate a bunch of plastic broom bristles off my broom shortly after bringing him home and that’s when I realized I had to lock down everything and anything that could be tempting :bawling:

Egg doesn’t seem nearly as bad but he also loves crinkly things and has become increasingly food motivated, he is especially interested in human food.

Only one poo so far today but no plastic that Iz could see in it so I’m not sure who’s it was… they’re still in good spirits though and I saw all of them take their individual poops yesterday afternoon so we aren’t at a concerning timeframe or anything yet.

Both boys have been pooping normally so I think we’re in the clear!

IDK why but the majority of my pictures refuse to upload onto this site now. I wanted to put one of Egg and Bitsy sleeping just a foot away from each other but it wouldn’t work so instead you get Moose and Egg smooshed together lol. But yeah! The boys still annoy Bitsy when they are being rowdy but she’s come around so much with little Egg that it seems as though she’s starting to like him FINALLY (only took 5 months lol)

Egg is also finally becoming less scared of the washing machine and dryer so he doesn’t hide the full two hours they run anymore which is great because that was always really sad.

I don’t know if you have the setup to do this, but you may want to consider putting webcams near the cats’ litter boxes so you can monitor who is doing what. When I had three cats — and particularly as they aged — it was really helpful to see who was having issues!
