I created this website for Maverick after he passed away in 2023 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

MAVERICK’S PAGE

I am not tech oriented but used a website called Wordpress to create a location for Maverick’s pictures and to say we loved him and remember him. It was a slow process for me, but I found every picture I could find and put them on this site. I pay a yearly fee to keep the site active.

I have Maverick’s ashes with me. The nearest pet cemetery is 70 miles away, but I thought of burying his ashes there with a marker for him. I really do not know what I will do. I like having him near me, but I wanted to have a nice peaceful burial place, too.

If others have advice or suggestions, that would be appreciated.

What a beautiful cat, and a lovely way to remember him. ❤

If you cannot decide what to do with his ashes yet, it sounds to me as though you are not ready to do anything with them just yet.
I think keep him with you until you know what you want to do, that might be for the rest of your life, but once you've scattered or buried them you can't undo it, and you wouldn't want to have any regrets about that.
There's no rush.

Thanks. I agree with you. I plan to keep the ashes for as long as I feel it is best. Perhaps permanently.

Maverick was a gorgeous cat, and having website of his own, is a lovely way to honour him. If you'd like, though, you could post a few pics of him in this thread too, as well as maybe share a bit more about him. As for his ashes, like the others have said, don't do anything until you're certain of your decision.

What a beautiful way to memorialize your precious friend.
I'm with the others. If, and when, you decide you'd like to bury or scatter his ashes in a beautiful place, you'll just know. I agree that there is no rush.

I am so sorry for your loss of Maverick, he was a very handsome boy.

I too have kept all my cats ashes in memorial boxes as I can't bear to part with them.
I have all mine who've died since 2009 - five. Before that, we buried them in the garden. Now I have a shelf full of urns or decorative containers for them. I'm in my third (hopefully last) home since then, and wouldn't want to have to leave them again.

I am going to keep Maverick’s ashes with me.

I have the ashes of my cat that died a little over 20 years ago. We had planned on doing "something" with them but never did and that's OK. You'll know when you find the right thing or if it's not right. I'm very sorry for your loss. :hugs:
