So, I got Debby and Luna vaccinated on Sunday. It was the PCH annual booster. Now, on Wednesday morning, I noticed Luna wasn’t asking for food, which she normally always does. She meows loudly for food every morning and even steals Debby’s food all the time.

I waited a few more hours and tried to feed her, but she refused. I touched her ears, and they felt warm to me. I showed some patience, even though I was worried. She was watching the view from my room’s window and the birds outside. I tried feeding her by hand; she licked a few kibbles and then had a bite. Her tongue felt hot, too. I then offered her the Whiskas jelly food that comes in sachets, and she did eat some of it. I didn’t give her the entire sachet, just a bit to encourage her to eat.

She was somewhat lethargic—not completely her usual self—but she used the litter box just fine and even pooped. She also went up and down the stairs, and I let her out in the garden to explore. She chewed on the overgrown grass but didn’t consume any.

At dinner time, I always give her boiled chicken, and she usually comes running for it. However, tonight she didn’t show any interest. I brought the bowl to her and served the chicken by hand, and she did eat some. She had a few sips of the broth as well. Normally, she finishes the entire chicken at once, but right now, her food is still in the bowl, and she isn’t interested. She is sleeping right now, all curled up.

Is she a bit warm? Is she licking her lips a lot? Cats can feel a bit under the weather just like we do after a vaccine. They can have fever and nausea.
But do give the vet a call if she's still not eating very much tomorrow.

Yes she was licking her lips when i first saw her in the morning. She felt warm too. The vaccination was done on Sunday, and she showed the symptoms on Wednesday. Is it possible to have symptoms 3 days after the vaccination?

I would call the vet.
I actually did they asked to bring her but I didn’t have any means of transport to get her to the vet. I got in touch with another vet the one i used to take my cats to before i moved to another location, he said if she’s eating then there is nothing to worry about

So licking her lips is nausea. She should feel a bit warm to you, as cats run a bit warmer than humans.

Could be...but if she is still only eating very small amounts, you'll need to arrange a vet visit to get some nausea medication.

Isn’t nausea always accompanied by vomiting? She hasn’t thrown up, though

I did take her to the vet and there is no fever. They checked her mouth as well for any dental issues but they couldn’t find any. She was dewormed back in April last so I got her dewormed as well. The vet said it could be due to her not being dewormed (even though I haven’t seen any parasites in her poop and her poop is the same as always).
It’s not like she’s not eating but shes showing less interest in food and doesn’t ask for it until she’s given. She did eat her entire chicken when came back from the vet last night. She’s also showing interest in the Whiskas jelly food. But less interest in her RC hairball care dry food. I’ve also noticed that she’s always just watching the view from my window the birds etc and she is quite eager to go out. I’ve tried to play with her but she seems uninterested. Yesterday, she even hissed and slapped my other cat when she tried to come close to her.

If she's normally an indoor-outdoor cat, she could have gotten in to a variety of things. There are many toxic planta etc outside.
Or eaten a rat or mouse that has been poisoned.

How are you storing her dry food?

Shes a complete indoor cat, never been out.
i keep the dry food in a tight jar

But when they don’t eat it all i put it back in the jar so that the food isn’t consumed by the ants

Thr jar is glass or plastic?

It's not recommended to put it back if they don't eat it. They get saliva and such on it and that will develop bacteria. Then when you add it back, your putting that bacteria to grow in thr entire jar.
Better to feed less at a time to ensure they eat it all.

The jar is plastic. It is a protein shake powder jar.
I feed them the amount they’re supposed to eat but one of my cats would just have a few bites and leave. I would leave it like that but the ants feed on it later or one cat would eat more than she should. Both the cats eat a different calculated amount

Aafia, the jar is probably the issue. We've had a couple of posters with this issue now.

Cat dry food when stored in plastic containers, scratches the containers. Then, even if you clean the container, bacteria builds up in the plastic and goes into any need food that you dump in there.
Over time, your cats could become gravely ill. But your one cat is being smart and refusing to eat the food instead.

But, by putting food BACK into the container, you are introducing even more bacteria into that container.

I can't stress this enough. You must throw uneaten kibbles away rather than put them back in thr container. Or feed them less so you dont have to waste. You can give a bit at a time and then give more if still hungry up to the amount they're allowed to have.

The proper way to store dry cat food is to leave it in the bag it comes in and put that bag into a sealable container. The bag helps to keep the food fresh. That's what they are made for.
