My lovely cat Jaspur has been licking his private area for the past few days. I managed to get a look just now and it a sore that seems to be oozing pus. I’m not sure what to do. I am submitting a picture in case anyone has any ideas. I think he may need antibiotics.
The picture is not pretty ...sorry

Please bring your cat in to the vet ASAP. He requires medical attention and only at the vet he can be treated.

Lord, yes, take him in. ASAP. That's pure nasty-looking, and if it weren't painful, he wouldn't be over-grooming the area.

Ok....I’ll call tomorrow. Is there anything I can do now?

IF you have chamomile tea, plain, unblended, brew a cup, chill it in the fridge, and wash the area with it very gently. It is soothing for all kinds of skin "ouchies," and is mildly antibiotic and antifungal, so that can't hurt. It is also safe for cats internally, so you don't have to worry about him licking it.
