Just a little update on Ash.
Today was a pretty good day. I'm letting him walk around more and he's really good at setting his own limits. I did find a decent article on the rehab process, so that will be very helpful.
I took him for his walk on a leash downstairs but the big, clumsy dog spooked him a little and he managed to go up a few steps before I had a chance to pick him up. Nothing serious, he's fine. He slept in my son's bed for most of the day...it's really low on the floor, so I picked him up and helped him down again. Made a little set of steps with stacked towels for him to climb up since he seems to want to go in there so much.
I took your advice

and
DreamerRose
and stopped putting the Desitin on his bum. The rash is scabbing over a bit and I think that it looks much better. Also, he isn't licking it. If he does and I tell him
he will stop. He's a very good boy!
While he was sleeping in my son's room, Lulu decided that she was going to take over his crate and make herself comfortable.
She always wants to do what Ash does.
Right now he's lying here beside me. No more cone yay!
