Kitties have a spay appointment Friday. For some reason I'm all sketched out.

Robyn5678 Robyn5678 OMG. What a precious kitty and I love the idea of that little suit.
This was from chewy but they have them on Amazon. No issues using the litter box.

She’s quite a drama kitty and acted like she was dying and forgot how to walk or do anything while she had it on. She’d lay on her side with her legs straight out 😂😂 and give the sad face.

TNRed ferals are released on the same day as the surgery, although I have always kept them in overnight. However, no one ever had a cone and they darted out of the trap as soon as we got home. No one was ever the worse for it.

You are certainly right to keep an eye on the incisions since these two are your pets, but they will probably be fine.

The incision site (thanks for that term by the way) on both look good. They are close to 100 personality-wise but much more chill ATM. They've also lost some of their super powers due to super short claws.

Thank you. I never thought I was a cat person but a neighbor last minute asked if I could feed his cats while he was away. NGL, the apartment smelled fresh and that was a huge game changer to me. Back in the day, it seemed you could always tell when someone had cats as soon as you walked through the door, IDK maybe they just weren't good about keeping the litter box clean but I suspect it has more to do with the newer fancy litters. Anyways, I stopped by the neighbors the other day and his cats look so massive. I'm used to the smaller kittens. I am so happy I have them. Since they're bonded siblings, they are extremely low maintenance as far as keeping themselves entertained, and they arrived here at 8 weeks - potty trained from the get go. I'm just the human that gets the food and keeps the apartment up. :flail: Nah, they will jump on the bed purring loudly, wanting pets and attention. They nap up here often.

Robyn5678 Robyn5678 I am looking at those suits on Amazon right now. I think though, they may not need them. I've been checking on them most of the day and it almost looks like they have completely healed from the surgery and I'm afraid if I start putting clothes on them, I could be 'that guy' who gets carried away... dressing them up in outfits.

I would totally dress mine up if I didn’t think they’d murder me in my sleep 😂😂

That’s great news their incisions are healing so well. Natasha really had quite the infection because she wouldnt leave it alone

Just seeing this thread now. Cute kittens. Glad their spay appts went well. About their incisions, TCS has this article on Spaying And Neutering - What To Look For After Surgery - TheCatSite, which includes pics of normal and infected spay incisions, which should give you an idea of whether your two's are healing normally or not.

Oh wow, thanks. Some of those photos showing infection... Oh man, so around the kitties incision point there isn't any redness or leakage. This is what Catnificent's looks like. Is this infected? It looks okay to me.

Robyn5678 Robyn5678 how did you deal with the infection? Did Natasha get kitty anti-biotics?

I had taken her to the vet and she got a shot. Between that and the suit she improved pretty quickly.

Doesn’t look infected to me. I can send you a pic of Natasha’s infected incision if you’d like.

They are adorable little cats. Trimming nails often curtails some activity, but it is a good thing to get them used to when they are young.

You just paid for their procedures, so ask the vet if you can send a pic to them.
