Any suggestions? A 3 week old kitten was playing and his eye was nicked by a sibling. The right eye is partially swollen. I have been applying warm compress and have an antibiotic arriving hopefully Tuesday. Is there anything else I can do to help the swelling go down?
Thank you!

Hi. I hate to say it, but eye injuries can be serious. Have you had this kitten's eye checked out by a vet, just to make sure it is nothing more than a 'nick'. If so, what else did they say that you might try?

I am fostering the Mother and kittens. The rescue told me to use a warm compress and an antibiotic (which is on order). They did not tell me to go to a Vet. I have been applying the warm compress. Yesterday the eye looked like it was improving. Today it does not.

Maybe call them back and say it not really any improving any now? They might say to wait until you administer the antibiotics, but I kind of would hope not once they hear it appears the improvement is slowing down or stopping altogether. Too bad the rescue didn't suggest you see a vet, just to get the antibiotic started sooner and to make sure nothing else is going on.

Is it the terramycin antibiotic eye ointment that’s coming? That should help. It’s probably what the eye needs.
