I have an orphaned 3-4 week old kitten who roots blankets and tries to suck the blanket fibers but will not take any nipple I offer. I make the nipple hole big enough for the formula to slow drip when the bottle is held upside down, use kitten milk replacer that is warm, and position him correctly on his belly. This continued for 16 hours until I mixed formula with soft kitten food and have been prying his mouth open and raking the food behind his bottom front teeth to feed him because he doesn't know how to eat. Please help!

You can continue so. Good thinking!

Otherwise a syringe may be easier. Especielly if the kitten had a momma bottle may be difficult - syringe or a dropper is often easier.
