Hey everyone. We rescued this sweet boy Goose from outside our home when he was around 8 weeks old. He had worms and was treated for those, but began having episodes of coughing/sneezing that seemed almost asthmatic like. He was eating fine and playing fine. We took him to the vet and they gave him azithromycin thinking a possible URI. The medicine helped a little but he was still having coughing fits and his belly was still a bit bloated. It also seems like he has slightly labored breathing but he is always purring really hard so it's hard to tell.
So we took him back to the vet on Friday and they did an xray and she said it looks like his liver, kidneys and stomach were very large. She said it looks like he has a lot of gas as well. She said it was strange but offered no relief or idea on what it could be, and just offered some panacur to see if any worms got into his lungs. I'm so worried that he has fip or something.
We made an appointment at another vet to run more tests so that we can use our scratch pay. He is the sweetest and cuddliest baby and after losing Leo in July I am going to be immensely heart broken if this baby has something fatally wrong with him. He follows me everywhere and loves me so much. He is around 13 weeks old now.
