kitten hiding her toys?

I've noticed mittens toys missing and just today we found 1 of her hiding spots. Why is it that kittens/cats hide their toys? I think it's funny and cute.

Cats not only hide their toys but our stuff too like pencils, hair clips, etc. I think it's part of their hunting exercises. They hide stuff for future search and retrieve games. 

 It keeps them from getting bored too.
