Hi our Black Persian had 6 kittens a week and a half ago and one of the kittens is half the size of all the others.
Mum often picks her up and takes the little one away from the rest and hides with it.
She does try to feed it by itself.
She also leaves it out of the nest like she is neglecting it.
We have tried to put the kitten on a teat on their own but she moves away.
This is our first time with kittens...I have handreared Eclectus parrots from newborn with syringe...do I have to do the same? Or should I take the little one to the vet.
What to do...?

You may be forced to handraise. Do you weigh this kitten daily?
How much does it gain daily?

Im mot sure if momma helps extra by sparing this kitten scuffing from littermates - which I hope - or if she is abandoning it.

Can you get raw goats milk?

Where do you live?

Most vets arent good with small kittens, but if yours is good you can ask for advices.

I don’t think she is abandoning it for she only grabs this kitten and she takes it to a hiding spot and tries to feed it but then she just leaves it there

No we haven’t weighed them.
She is definitely much smaller

If mom moves the smallest one away from the others he/she will not be warm enough. The little ones lose temperature very quickly. What happens when you put it back in the nest? Does mom take him/her away again?
Weighing them is the only reliable way to ascertain that they are being fed sufficiently and this is particularly important in the case of the smallest one.

Please bear in mind that the little kittie must be warm when being fed.

Beautiful cat and kittens. Noticed mum appears to have a collar on - have seen other advise on here removing them, as some risk of kittens getting a leg stuck.
Hope the smaller one is OK, and definitely weigh them everyday, as really help you see what's going on and intervene early if issues.

Its important to weigh daily esp in critical situations. If she gains you know she gets enough from momma, you know for sure momma takes her aside to help her better.

If she dont gains you know you must supplement or even handraise 100%.

a normal kitten will add 10+ grammes a day. She being visibly smaller may add 6+ grammes.

Weigting takes down much of guesswork.

Cartooned goats milk is usually ok if its no funny low fat diet variation.

Probably not better than a good kmr.

What kmr is there in the per shop?

Yes, please weigh the kittens daily. In grams is most helpful.

Are you a breeder, and do you have a mentor who can help in person?
