I have a 10 week old kitten. Women I got her from was feeding special kitty dry. I slowly transitioned her to friskies gravy swirls dry and leave it out all day. I give her friskies all lifestages pate a spoon morning and night and started upping the wet a bit. She was very constipated when I got her she doesn't drink very much water. I had her dewormed. (Full of worms, and vaccines she is healthy.I know friskies isn't the best but not the worst. Should I look for another brand and if so should she have dry and wet or just wet as a kitten, adult? I asked vet and they said dry was fine but I don't want her dehydrated. I am low income but I will give her the best I can. I don't like fancy feast ( canned made cats very sick) or meow mix ( smells, cats greasy )or whiskas ( makes cats stink, hi waist, makes them fat). I know every cats different but have had cats before. She is hi energy, doesn't smell, enjoys her food.

I like to be realistic, and I say give your cat what you can realistically afford in the long term. If Friskies fits within your budget, then do that. Wet is usually better for cats, but plenty of cats do fine on dry as well. Again, do what you can afford and what works for you.

Maybe try adding a little bit of water to her Friskies pate when you give it since she doesn't drink much water. I add water to every wet food meal that I serve, and that's typically four meals per day.

A 10 week old kitten needs all the nutrients and proteins they need for three formative year and these comes from feeding wet food.

Wet food keeps them hydrated and fuller. Feed her whatever wet food she likes. It's better than not eating. Dry food are full of carbs.

Thankyou. Sorry for late reply I am severely allergic to her. She's not going anywhere. Lol. Just busy trying to find relief for allergy. I have upped her wet food alot and still have kibble available but started using a toy feeder to keep her busy.

At 10 weeks old it would be great if she was still on kitten.

It sounds like you're doing great for her! If you can afford to give her even just a tablespoon of wet food per day, that's great! Any wet (one without cheese or milk) is better than none. :)

I'm unsure where you are located, but I know in North America that canned cat food is usually pretty safe. There's also low cost ones like Authority, Sheba, Iams Perfect Portions (that's what I use), Beyond, Tastefuls, Zoe...if in Canada President's Choice even has a wet cat food line that is decent! You can even switch up between similar products when on sale.

You should choose to feed a diet that allows you to keep some money for vet bills, if possible.

I start her on Purina proplan live clear on Fri transitioning slowly but will still give her friskies wet morning and night. I have no choice but to try I'm taking allergy meds morning and night and my throat is still closing up besides the itching red eyes and constantly pooring noes know I have a crazy cough sounds like I have asma. I have done a lot of research on this food. Extremely expensive but does work well apparently and only food on market for people with allergies.

Do you have a HEPA filter on your vacuum?

As another cat owner with cat allergies I recommend getting some air purifiers specific for allergens. Don't cheap out and do some research on good brands.

Amazon has a lot.of good allergy covers for mattresses, pillows etc.
