is it harmful to feed a kitten food to an adult cat?

i found a brand that has a kitten food with the same

protein level but the ingredients list looks

better in the kitten food

it has 3 meats then barley and brown rice

but the adult version has a meat than barley listed

so the kitten has barley listed fourth and in the adult

food its listed 2nd

so even with the same protein the kitten appears to have more

meat

Feeding kitten food isn't harmful, but it usually higher fat. May I ask what brand of cat food? There are some brands that are for adults that are high in meat and protein like Nulo, Solid Gold High Protein recipe, Merrick, and Acana. I don't recommend Blue because they have frequent recalls and there are ingredients that are questionable like tapioca starch, potato starch, and caramel. Hope this helped!

It's not harmful but you might have to adjust portions. Kitten food is formulated to meet the nutirition needs for growth in kittens, so usually higher calories and fat. In most adults you usually just want to maintain weight so feeding an adult cat kitten food could cause weight gain.
