My daughters friend has a kitten that was born with a bent right front paw. The funny thing is, the kitten is now running around like nothing is wrong. Of course I can't  tell her what  to do but did mention her go to the vet.

Have you had a kitten born with a defect ?  What happen to it ?

This doesn't sound like a life-threatening defect but a vet visit will be good to rule out any possible complications arising from the bent paw.

I had a cat that was born with a Level 4 heart murmur (Murmurs are graded on a scale from 1-6; I was told 6 is "pretty much dead") and was later diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), which pretty much means that the walls of the heart muscle were thickening and overtime it would lead to heart failure.  HCM cats have a history of sudden death due to the disease.  He passed away at only 6 years of age from the congenital defect in 2011.
