Hello, I'm new on the site and adopted a tiny adorable tuxedo kitten. He likes to bite/chew the coil doorstop. I've tried vinegar but no luck. I live in an apt so it cannot be removed. I'm concerned the rubber end will come off and he will chew on the coil. Any advice would be great, thank you!

I have no help to offer. Every cat I've ever had since those coiled doorstops came out has been, to one degree or another, fixated on them. Just wait...he'll learn when he has a bit more strength in his front paws, that he can slap it, and it will go "SPROINNNNGGGGG," and you may lose your mind. However...MOST of the coiled "sproingers" are screwed on...give it a twist and it might come off for you. They're easy to replace when you move out. Just put them somewhere that you can find them again! Mine are safely tucked away...somewhere. Oh, SPIT!

Thank you for the laugh! Yeah, just love that Sproing sound. (face palm) I was able to twist it off. And it's put in a place where I will remember where I put it......I think.....lol

Welcome to TCS S SueLinda !

Was the doorstop on the door to your apartment or an interior door? You may want to put something on the floor to block the door from banging against the wall and denting it or even buy one of those 'stick on the wall' doorstops that align with the door handle.

Buy a rubber ball, too big for a kitten to swallow, cut a hole in it and stick it over the doorstop. You also might be able to find a dog toy that already has a hole that you can fit over the doorstop.
