Hi all!

I often catch my 6mo baby boy in a weird position. He’s on top of a blanket, biting it, kneading, purring and his back is a little arched (pics below).
Does anyone know why he might be doing that? He sometimes meows as well (which is weird cause he’s usually very quiet), I’m almost worried he’s in some kind of pain?

Thanks!

Is he neutered? If not he could just be feeling urges due to hormones and it being spring time.

Most all cats will knead and nuzzle if they find something soft and fuzzy, but some do also suck the soft material. I think that is what your guy is doing. Could possibly have a sexual maturity component to it but I would bet once he is neutered he will continue to do the same time. It is harmless self soothing and shouldn’t be discouraged although you can redirect him to a different piece of fuzzy material or clothing if necessary,
