so the day has finally come. its been close to a year now but keith
now has his little colony all S/N !!!

and we managed to adopt out 2 of his outside cats who were so friendly !

now as keith works on continuing to socialize them more and more, he may
be able to start adopting the most friendly ones out.

we are working with a rescue who has been great about helping us adopt
them out as long as they are very friendly.

TNR i remember you and i having a conversation about this last year and
i wanted you to be one of the first to know that keith did it !
he got his entire colony S/N !

he persevered even though at times it seemed impossible and accomplished
what he set out to do.

due to my medical problems he did the last three cats totally on his own !!
not one bit of help from me.

and now keith has all the tools he needs to continue to S/N any cat
he may see now and again in the future.

i am very proud of him and wanted to share.

keith this is for you !

That's very exciting indeed!! No more babies from Keith's colony!
And that means that even if they all don't find homes...they cannot add to the overpopulation of outdoor cats AND it makes them MUCH more adoptable...so good job!!

Yes I finally got them all done, but it has actually been 3 years I have been trying to finish this, so it's a big relief! Prettyboy helped with the first few cats of the colony, and I finished on my own with the last 3 cats.

The majority of my outside cats are very friendly, and I tried to treat them like I do my own cats, and that actually worked! Most of the cats play with toys, and most I can pet and brush, 2 I can give baths to outside! 2 of the most recent cats I could not pet, but judging from the others, after they are fixed they do a complete turn around and I have one male cat who was feral, and after being fixed he now lets me pet and brush him and he is VERY vocal now, not to mention he no longer fights.

So dont be discouraged that a feral will always be feral, some can and will bond to you and eventually be adopted, but you must give them alot of attention and have them depend on you so they learn to trust you.

Congratulations! I spent years s/n the cats in my colony and it is hard work! I have not had your success in gaining the trust of my cats -- most will not let me touch them, or even come close to them. I have had to trap most of them. So GOOD WORK!! Very impressive!
