My 7 month old kitten was being mean to my senior cat when I had her on my lap today (jumping up and boxing her in the face). I tried that 3 different times and happened every time.  I'm not sure if that was jealousy or if he was unsure how to fit himself on my lap too?  Any thoughts one how I might be able to get him to be a little nicer to the older one.

Also if you have any good suggestions on games to play with kittens.  I think my kitten needs it, as he is acting a little bored/high energy (tackling my senior cat who tolerates it but doesn't like it from behind, coming into the room and meowing and then getting down again when I pick him up, zooming around the house). My plan is to try it when I get home from work, as that's when I normally try to interact with the cats anyway. I'd love to let him go in our backyard, but will probably not happen until spring.

Wand toys and laser pointers are great to get kittens energy out!  Ideally they need 2-3 good, tiring play sessions a day.  One right before you go to bed is a good time too.

Da Bird and the Cat Dancer are favorite toys in our house.  Noodles likes catnip bubbles but Mooch hides from them.  When the girls were younger they liked mice, crinkle balls and especially milk rings from jugs of milk.  i could flick them and Mooch would fetch them over and over again.

Playing with the kitten, tiring him out like that, should help give your senior a break so you can snuggle her too.
