We're having a heat wave. I comb and brush KittyKat, and remove gobs of fur, almost daily. Aside from that, how else can I help to keep her cooler? I do provide fresh water in a shaded place but it's still pretty hot. We have shady areas but she hangs on her pillow a lot of the time even in the sunny part of the day and clings to the one shady corner.

I once tried to give her some wet wipes to cool her fur, but she kinda freaked out. Thanks!

I have a caged feral going through the same thing. I propped a half piece of plywood up against the side of his enclosure and wet the dirt behind it to provide a cooler place. On the days when it was above 100 I even ran an extension cord out there and ran a fan. Make sure there is plenty of fresh water and put some ice cubes in it. Most outside cats seek shade and don't move around much.
