1. How would you rate the book on a scale of 1 to 5 *****?
3*** maybe
2. Who was your favourite character?
Hmmm... Hannah, I guess.
3. Did you have to force yourself to get through the book or were you unable to put it down?
It kept my interest, and I read it quickly.
4. Did you learn anything you didn't know before?
Not that I can recall.
5. Did you find the characters believable?
I guess.
6. Is there any part of the book you would change?
Don't have so many unanswered questions that forces you to read the sequel.
7. Were there any points of view you felt the author had that you disagreed with?
Don't think so
8. Were you disappointed at the ending because it left so many questions unanswered thus needing you to read the sequel Guilty as Sin?
Totally. I generally love books that end up having sequels, but hated that SO MANY questions were left unanswered. At least Josh was returned by the end of the book.
9. Do you intend reading Guilty as Sin?
Yes. Pretty much have to if I want to know "who dunnit".
10. Do you think Garrett had an accomplice, if so, who.
Hmmm... Christopher Priest seems like the logical accomplice, but it also seems too easy. Maybe the sheriff? He was always trying to stick his nose in and make things difficult for Mitch, and is probably the right age. Was there also a mayor?
11. Do you think Hannah was to blame because she didn't pick Josh up.
Not at all. The accident was planned and set up so she'd have to stay at the hospital, thus leaving Josh to wait alone. I also wonder if Garrett knew his wife would be with Paul that night, so he also couldn't pick up Josh.
12. What did you think of Paul Kirkland, did you think he was involved.
No. His guilt about missing Josh's phone call seemed genuine. So I don't think he was involved with the kidnapping. Not sure about Karen though. She's a strange one, what with her obsession with Paul.
13. Do you think Olie was involved or just a viable suspect.
I think Garrett and his accomplice somehow knew Olie's past, and framed him.
14. Do you feel the investigation was competently carried out or were there too many egos and attention seekers.
The entire investigation was laughable, and would be a tragedy it it was real life. Everyone getting in the way, leaking info, etc.
15. How did you find the relationship between Megan and Mitch, implausible, unrealistic, possible. Did it make you feel annoyed, happy, angry?
I suppose their relationship could be realistic, but it seemed to happen awfully fast.
16. Do you think the book should have been more about Josh and less about the romance.
Making the book more about Josh would have changed it considerably. And could have made it disturbing if we had to live "real time" with what Josh was experiencing. Hopefully he was sedated and doesn't remember much. And I really hope we don't learn he was abused. Since Olie was likely not involved, I'm thinking the kidnapping was just for the "game" being played with the parents/public, and not to harm/abuse a young boy.
17. Do you think there were too many characters in play.
Probably, as I had trouble keeping track of everyone.
