Utamu, Chimpanzee at St Louis Zoo is pregnant. I hope that the staff at the zoo finds some joy from this to make up for the loss of baby Avi (the elephant). I'm actually going to follow Utamu's pregnancy although I'm sure it's close to a human's pregnancy? Some photos I've seen she already looks pregnant. Enjoy. :)

The Zoo updated the above page again, explaining how they determined she was pregnant. So much like a human

Just so I'm not clogging up this forum with a million posts and this has to do with the animals at my local zoo I wish to announce that our zoo's 50+ old ball python just laid eggs and she has not been with a male for over 15 years. Yes they can reproduce asexually or store sperm for later fertilization. The eggs are fertilized. I find all of this very interesting.

I had to take some time away. Cats are still here. But getting back on topic Utamu had a baby girl last week. You can see the video of Utamu, her mother who stayed with her during labor and the new baby girl.
