How do those of you who do jigsaws do them without wanting to throw them in the bin cause the pieces don't go where I want them to go?
Patience and persistence. Oh, and planning (i.e. sorting by edges, colours, etc). :)

Family member months ago got me a 100 piece jigsaw and I still can't do it :livid: (one hundred piece)
Start with sorting the edges. And don't expect to finish it in 10 minutes, or in one sitting. A 100 piece puzzle will likely take a couple hours, at least. What's the picture? It helps if it's a picture you want to see finished.

Lol- I took out a puzzle recently, started separating all the colors , the edges and didn't even get half way through that and scooped it back into the box- might another year go by before I reconsider,It's been awhile & I feel like I lost my umph for it
I just searched back through this thread, and in Sep-2020 I posted about a puzzle I'd started the year before and abandoned. Here's how far I had gotten at that point.

Then finally this January I got inspired and started working on it again.

It's a breakfast cereal box picture one, sent it to the charity shop in the end, got too annoyed at it

This one was harder than it looks.. I know there's not a lot of sky, but it took me ages to complete! Must be getting old.
One of the good things about Ravensburger is that a piece either fits or it doesn't.. Some of the cheaper puzzles have very few shapes, but these are all unique.

It looks VERY hard- I can see why it would take a very long time with the few colors used even with all the cats! What a darling scene- really unique

My friend and I had a bit of a slow start with this 350 piece jigsaw today
Sundar with jigsaw.jpg

Sundar hadn't seen his friend in a while and wasn't having her attention taken by such mundane things until he had received his due adoration.
But we did finish it.. it's a great one, especially for kids, as it's the history of the world, and comes with a great little book describing what they all are.

At first I thought you meant Sundar,as your" friend" doing the puzzle with you🤔

I was so busy looking at Sundar looking so adorable I didn't realize there was more after the photo! 😂😂😂 :flail:

Cool puzzle

This was easy, fun and cheerful (500 pc)
Very nice.

With winter not that far away, I've started thinking it will soon be jigsaw puzzling time again. Not sure how it's going to go with Miss Pretty, but guess won't know till I try. I ended up donating all my puzzles, as I knew I'd never do them again, so going to ask Santa to bring me a couple for Christmas.

Not sure how Pretty is going to be at assisting you with puzzling but it is probably safe to say she'll want to " help" - :flail: :heartshape:

I envy you who can all do puzzles! My patience for such things is limited. A 500-piece puzzle is about the extent of my skills. I'm more of a painter/artist.
I used to have patience for puzzles- the last few times I've attempted to start I didn't even have the patience to separate by color( or whatever ).... keep throwing everything back in the box,I guess I've no patience for it anymore 😒
