Our cat Lucy recently had 4 kittens, she is first-time mum, but she is attentive good mum, all 4 kittens were very active, healthy and nurse well.
However, on day 5 one of kittens refused to nurse any more and became uneasy and crawled away then died.
On day 6 another kitten did the same and then died, and then on day 7 another.
As a small hobby breeder, I have never encountered this before, and the vet seems not helpful either. I was told pneumonia could be the main reason for this, I have to admit, I did not check the kittens whether had water in their lung on day 1, as they looked very happy and busy nursing on mum.
I am not sure whether should we let Lucy retire or if there any other reasons, any suggestion is highly appreciated
