Is this normal litter box behavior?

My cat went to her litter box to pee and walked out then turned around and went straight back to the litter box to poo, why wouldn't she just do both things at once, you know what I mean? Why make another trip when she was already just there? Like she went pee, walked out then turned around and walked right back into the box to do number 2. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

The litter is clean, I just deep cleaned it earlier today so it's not dirty or anything. The box is very big so there's enough room for her to do her buisness. I never catch her in the act so I don't know if this is normal behavior or not. When I saw her go number 2 she had both of her paws on the edge of the litter box and she stood up to poo, I'm not sure if that's normal either? Please help lol

They are completely normal. I don't know why and it doesn't make sense to humans but cats do this all the time. Maybe she was standing on her hind legs because her urine clump was still there? Our cats pee in the corner of a spacious box sometimes, rather than doing it in the center.

Yeah she always pees in the same corner every time, and she just peed so maybe that's why she was standing like that so she didn't touch the clump like you said lol. I'm just confused why she took two separate trips within the span of 5 mins when she could've just done everything in one trip. It almost looked like as she was walking out of her box the first time after she peed she remembered she had to do number two and went back to do more buisness lmao. It just looked weird to me

I wondered the same thing but came to accept it as a normal thing in their world. Sometimes they poop first and then go back to pee. This weird pattern lasted for a little while but now they don't do that anymore.

They do that so they can track more litter on the floor!

Seriously, kitties can be so weird and do weird things like this.

My cats also do something similar though it can vary from time to time.
Sometimes they go in to pee, walk out then return and poop. Or pee in one box, walk out and poop in the other. Sometimes they cover it and other times they don't.

I have one cat that starts peeing while squatting then slowly raises his butt and finishes standing up with his tail vertical.
