Is the CVR-C Kitten Vaccine necessary?

Hey everyone, my 6 month old kitten is due for his CVR-C kitten shot. I was wondering if anyone had information on what this shot is for and if it is a necessary shot? My other kitty is getting a blood test so I’m trying to decide if I should bring him with too to get that shot.

In my opinion, you should get ALL the normal kitten shots and boosters. Here in the U.S., the core vaccines include what I believe is in the CVR-C, but possibly it's different if you are in a different country? I looked up CVR-C and it's sounds like it's Canadian.

I would say ask your Vet about whether or not they feel it's necessary, and if so, and you aren't sure you want to get it, ask them why. From what I gather, it's to aid against Feline Herpes Virus, and you do want to try to prevent that if you can.
