I have always used paper litter pellets for my cats but was considering changing to pine litter because of the cost and I also read the pine has antibacterial properties which I thought would be good with multiple cats. I wanted to know is the dust from pine harmful to cats? Does anyone use this type of litter?

Not that I heard off i use the same thing for my kitten because them cat litter are very expensive but the wood pine pellets I got from it from lowes for 6 buck and the pellet turn to dust once the cat pees on it not to much mess less stress boy oh boy them cat litter would get everywhere in the house

Well if it smells like pine then I would suggest not to. Cats don't like scents of any kind. You need to buy something that's unscented. I have found that the world's best cat litter is really good. I have switched to other litters before and they made too much of a mess and we're too dusty especially the clay type.

Their many brand I prefer the cheaper and larger bag campare to the small one that going for 15.00

I've used pine litter for years and dont get dust. As soon as I see the litter box has been used, I scope that area so the pellets dont have a chance to dry and break down.

Yes it is unscented and no I did see any dust when I change trow out the old pine wood and adding in new one I didn’t see no dust flying or on my hand

How did it go? I’ve just changed to pine litter and a sifting tray. There wasn’t any noticeable scent when I opened the bag, less even than the tofu litter I’ve been using.
I have a friend that had her kitties on the pine litter. One of her cats developed very bad allergies nasal allergies - sneezing a bunch and very "snotty" - suffy nose etc.. She decided to try to see if it was the pine litter. She moved them to paper litter and her cat is doing great - no more scratching. My friend's allergies are also better!

Well one of my cats is very particular about things and even though I tried to switch over gradually he expressed his dislike for the new litter by pooping on the couch 
i switched back to the original litter and he's back to pooping in his box so I guess that is we will be sticking with our original litter lol

I don’t know how mine will go. They don’t seem enamoured at the moment. I just bought more of their tofu litter to cover the pine in its new tray (which is sitting beside the old one) to try to tempt them.

I think the answer is: that depends.
It should be cat pellets and not rabbit pellets as the rabbit ones are treated differently. This can cause issue for your cat (s).
I did find my boy had a reaction to the pine so we haven't used it since, but I know many people who use it.
My advice for litter changing is fill one box with new litter and keep old litter in the other box(es). See what your cat prefers (aka uses most)..
