Is my kitten long or short haired?

Hello! I just rescued an orphaned kitten. The shelter does not know the mom, therefore we aren’t sure whether or not she is long haired. I thought I would seek the advice of you all to see what you think! I obviously LOVE this little guy no matter what I’m just curious more than anything! He is 8 weeks old. Forgive some of my photos- he is quite the squirmy energetic little thing.

He looks like a shorthair to me. Right now he has the kitten fuzzies, but that will smooth out as he gets older.

ETA What is his name?

Thank you! I’m convinced he is short haired, my partner thinks he’s definitely long haired. It is the kitten fuzz that is throwing both of us off! Haha.

I can’t believe I forgot that! His name is Charlie

For sure a shortie his tail is thin and skinny, no thick fur just kitten fuzz.
