Is my cat a bengal mix?

Hi! We just bought a cute male kitten off kijiji. The previous owner said that his purebred female cat escaped home and got pregnant from an unknown cat. So he is apparently a mix of a bengal and some other breed. Though to me. He appears to be a tabby cat. What do you think?

What a cutie he could be a mix. I see possible Rosette like spots going on and he’s still pretty young. But there’s no way to know for sure. I assume your friend is telling you the truth. So then you know the mother is a pedigree bengal, or is it someone unknown? I can’t really see him very well from these photos. They’re kind of blurry.

My guess momma was a "purebred". She did had looks almost as a pet quality bengal. but the detoriation become clearly visible in next - third generation.

Black spotted tabby domestic shorthair. Doesn't have a strong Bengal look going on, as they're usually obvious from the head and the warmth (colour) of their coat, but it may be that the mum herself was very pet quality. Do you have any photos of mum?
