is it better to give flea or worm treatments separately

I'm using Advocate Fleas, heartworms & worm pippetes atm and only use them every 6 months or so as Mitzi doesn't show any signs of either, but vet recommends regular treatments as prevention, she is mostly indoors and is able to access courtyard only but I do have occasional visits from neighbouring cats which somehow manage to walk along the top of joining fences to get into my place, I used to put Mizi's kitty litter tray in carport but had to bring it inside to my laundry as these cats would also use it,
should I keep using Advocate, are there better options, I ask because she always seems 'off' for a few days after treatment...

I use Revolution Plus. It's for fleas, worms, and ear mites. Given once a month and neither cat has had any issues. I use it mainly for ear mites as my two are indoor only.

I wouldn't use anything unless you see symptoms. Or if they have acess to eating mice or rodents and do so, once or twice a year to deworm. Using medications for indoor cats or cats that are confinerd close to the house is unnecessary. i have had bad reactions in some cats, like losing ALL of their fur, so really watch it now. Heartworm could be a worry, but a good wormer like Profender given every 6 months would help. Tests have shown there are FEWER heartworms after treatment, but it does not rid the cat of heartworms completely.

I use Revolution as needed which is usually during the warmer months. However, this depends on where you live and what the cats are exposed to in the course of the year. Watch for effectiveness as in my area Frontline, Advantage, and now Revolution are all failing as fleas adapt to them.
