Is "good dry food" better than "low quality wet food" in a diet?

Apart from what has already been said, it really depends on the cat. My older cat loves water, drinks it often and has never had dehydration issues even when he was going thru a bout of illness where he vomited and had diarrhea for days. So for him I give him a decent cheap wet food (he doesn't like wet so I have to entice him with fancy feast) and the best dry he likes which is Dr. Elsey chicken kibble.

I know some cats don't like drinking water even if they eat dry food, so in that case having an almost all wet food diet is best. Some cats can eat their whole meal in one go, so I've also seen owners make a kibble soup (kibbles in lots of water) which their cat doesn't mind. In the end no matter how nice the food is, it's pointless if you're trying a method that your cat will not eat!

I feed my two boys Dr. Elsey dry food and Applaws wet chicken and Weruva pate.

wet food does get to be more expensive per pound of nutrition, especially if you're cat eats a lot..
