Is 1 year old Smokey trying to get it on 4 month old Nala?

So it's Smokey's first glimpse of a female cat. Nala is used to other cats being rescued from a rescue. Is Smokey really trying to do stuff with her? Isnt she too young? At what age do female cats usually go into heat? When can I operate nala? Smokey's already been operated on but still....kinda weird

If he has been neutered you may just be seeing some play behavior. But at four months Nala is definitely old enough to be spayed so best get that done as soon as possible.

Yes at 4 months she can be in heat, and sometimes it causes even fixed males to get a bit excited.. lol

He may be. She's just old enough to be starting to go into heat. And neutering male cats doesn't take away their willingness to oblige an available female. The good thing is, as disturbing as it is to watch, there won't be any kittens...and until she is spayed, if he is actually mating with her, he may be relieving her heat. But DO get that spay as soon as your vet will do it!

On the other hand, its also true that one year olds can be completely nutty about playing with other cats, including kittens. Since he is neutered, that is my guess, but we'd have to see a video or get more of a play-by-play from you to tell you for sure.
