Thanks so much everyone! Yes we are very proud of her and ourselves - it was very tough to start with but she is such an easy baby (so far) sleeps really well, eats beautifully, is putting on a lot of weight (she is 7oz over her birthweight already and she's only 12 days old) and she only wakes once during the night for a feed. Max and I are averaging 8 hours sleep a night with only one interruption! It's divine.

I am having a lot of trouble with breastfeeding though - I lost more than 2 pints of blood during her birth, and had trouble establishing a supply. So for now I am expressing and giving her bottles of expressed breast milk, and things are going beautifully - even though it's very time consuming this way. Luckily she feeds every 4.5 hours or so, so we get a break. And of course this way Max gets to feed her, too, which he loves.

Here is the latest..... - and it's certainly true!

Goodness Sarah, that's a lot of blood loss! Are you feeling ok now hon?

Have you looked into meeting with a lactation specialist that might could help give you some advice to make the breast feeding easier? I'm not sure if you have a LaLeche league in Australia or not- but i'm sure you might have something similar!!

She is such a pretty baby!!!
And what a good little angel to sleep so well during the night!
I'm sure that definitely helps a bit!! (Her shirt is prescious by the way!!!)

She is a darling girl, such a placid little baby, big and healthy and strong, eats a tonne and sleeps for hours. Fingers crossed that doesn't pass too quickly!

I'd like to thank you all for your lovely messages and well wishes. Things didn't go well with her delivery and I was in hospital for eight days afterwards, but everything is just wonderful now and we are home and happy.

Here she is.
She is the most beautiful newborn baby I have ever saw!!!! Congratulations!!!!!
