I think I will switch to the Indoor dry food too. Maggie & Harlow are little chunkers.

Tuxie sounds just like my diabolical triplets. They definitely bounce off the walls. I compromise on some things, but they are absolutely not allowed to hurt me, or go in my clothes tote, or get on the table during my dishes hour twice a day. The world comes to a stop if they do. I'm convinced they can tell time because I was late getting my dishes done today & Harlow got on the table & sprawled out! 🤣 I couldn't scold her because I was late. So I told her how much I love her instead. ❤ I still don't think cats should ever be allowed on the table. But I compromise...Frasier & Harlow pics below.

I'm glad its starting to settle. Try not to be discouraged too much by some minor setbacks.

Craft paper was always a big hit with Magnus. I also liked paper towel rolls for him to fight. I would turn the edges into a fringe.

I really do recommend puzzles for food. You can make some DIY ones if you check out YouTube...or check on your local Buy Nothing if anyone's giving them away. You can sanitize and wash...

A trick for getting them to eat the wet, I'll sometimes set a single kibble down next to the wet and then walk away. On it didn't work gor us but you could try.

You might want to switch to appetite control. Ghostie really really needs that to feel full. We use Hills because it doesn't have peas. He gets 3 tablespoons per day at 3 different times. Two are in puzzles or by games. Kibble toss down the hallway is a great one.

Yeah, I will get the food puzzle..
Yesterday, I did not feel well--- asthma and allergies, and arthritis.. I had my bedroom open a crack. I closed it when I decided to lie down on top of the bed--- I must have trapped a tiny gnat in the window. Tux found it., alright... Now I need a new screen and the vertical blinds fixed--- 2 slats are down = Tux!!

Yesterday afternoon and evening, I was stretched out on the recliner.. I did not play with Tux.. He must have sensed it, because he did not ask for play.... He stretched out on the rug near me.. did not bother me at all...
He woke me up around 6am. I stayed in bed. Did not go for my legs or arms. I called him over when I got up after 7am. He was sweet.. no biting at that point.. but I got up before he got overstimulated.

Making up for it today.. Played around 30 minutes with wand mousie, got fed, rested, now is ready to play some more. He walked across my laptop 4 times, asking for play...

So five steps backward, .... and perhaps one step forward--- who knows..

He ate all of his 1/2 can of ProPlan chicken with spinach this morning--- licked the bowl clean.. Made a mess out of his litter box... and is insisting on play... I do not ever think I will get him out of the biting...

Gotta go play with the brat...

Yeah, Tuxxie was very very fresh, aggressive this morning. He really got me with his claws and mouth..
I called Petsmart Grooming, asking if they had any openings this morning for a cat nail trim. Took him in 2 hours later! He was so aggressive trying to pick him up, and get him in the carrier. I had to do a squeeze at the nape of his neck to get him in.. Yes, I held his bottom with other hand while squeezing. It was the only way to get him in. He was quiet. I kept telling him he was going back to kitty jail because he is so fresh. Not a peep from him in the carrier or the car.

He was as good as gold.. I had given him a few calming treats earlier. Tux almost fell asleep in the car. I looked over and saw his eyes were half closed!! As soon as the trim was done, I gave him a couple of treats telling him he was a good boy, and that we were going home!
They remember him from when he was in the adoption area. They trimmed his nails the day I took him home-- no charge!! I was not certain if they did or didn't because there was no bill.

The entire procedure took only a few minutes.. and they were done. Two techs.. They kind of wrapped a leash around his shoulders to keep him from lifting his front paws up and away. One held him up, while the other one clipped. They were very gentle and spoke to him softly..He cocked his head to the side, and had a very weird look on his face. It was so funny. They even noticed it! Not even a muscle twitched. Tux looked as if he was paralyzed!!

I was so grateful.. They said he was much better than when he was in the adoption area. Could have been from the calming treats or the fact that I was still there.. Who knows.

I will have to keep taking him there, for a long time. I cannot even attempt to try..

It's very good that he was so good for the techs and that he got his claws clipped. The calming treats may be helping him, or it may be that he was scared. Whichever, all's well that ends well. :redheartpump: :bicolorcat: :redheartpump:  :goldstar:

Don't worry about having to scruff him so long as you do it properly, and you did. You supported his back end, and I'm sure you didn't dig your nails in. The issues with scruffing happen when people do NOT know how to do it. AND...it worked.

What about that claw gripper contraption you were talking about? The one Tuxxie is afraid of? Maybe try clicking it when he tries to hurt you? I could never wait a long, long time for him to stop cutting me. I would be like heck no! Demi cut open my palm once & I had to tape up my hand for a week! I needed instant results. I don't have time for those type of injuries, I need my hands! So I had to lay down the law. When they hear the loud No! their eyes nearly bug out of their head. They know I mean business. But they also know I would never hurt them. It's a balance I guess. You will figure it out. ❤

Yes! Gracie has a white diamond on her nose, Frasier has half of his face white, and Harlow just has plain gray nose. So I got Tuxxie times three!!! 😆
Yeah, that is the only way to tell them apart!!

Tuxxie was quite fresh last night. Yes, he is afraid of 'the gripper'.. and the spray bottle.. Unfortunately, I cannot keep them attached to me everywhere I go.. Tux is really getting to my hands, arms.. I am gong to try the collar again.

Tux did lie on my lap last night, for about 20 minutes. That was after he did his kneading and drooling--- no sucking, just drooling.. When he woke up-- he was back to nipping and then biting my hand.. dam cat.. By the time I reached over for the spray bottle, he had jumped off.
Using his tall scratcher more and more..
During the night, Opened the closet door, again!! I am going to have to child proof it... dam-- bungee cord the doors..
He also took down my hand towel in the kitchen, was hunting for food-- heard him at the area where I keep the dry.. All this was done while he was out of eye site or while I was in bed. By the time I got up, he jumped down. I did tell him off.. but...

Now, Tux is fascinated with the toilet!! :livid:
He jumps on the sink, waits for me to finish. When I get up, he is ready to pounce on the tank or the toilet seat. I am afraid I am not fast enough shut the lid!! Keeping him from getting into the toilet!! He is fascinated with water... I know he would do well with a water fountain. Knowing Tux, he would get water everywhere. As it is, he plays with his water before he drinks it!! I have to keep a tiny amount in the water bowl.. as well as the litter box.

I am trying different litters to see which one is better for us.. He is ok with Dr Elseys Precious Cats, Ok with Tidy Cats unscented. However, each time I put any litter in the box, I have to mix it up so it has his smell; otherwise he will kick it out.
Yesterday, I tried Fresh Step unscented.. a friend uses it. I replaced only what he had used, mixing it up with the old.. Tux still kicked out the same amount that I put in.. dam cat..:fuming:

I swear he is so smart..

Tux wakes me up at 6am each morning.. sun rising.. He is not happy if I ignore him.. but, I think he may have stopped biting my feet through the sheets. That is his way of getting me up.. I do get up, before I can sense him about to attack.. :angrywoman:

Oh, Tux also 'lost' the remote to my new Firestick!! I have been looking for 3 days for it. It is a new one. It is black. I had an aqua cover for the old remote. That does not fit the new one. I put the new one done, when I went to bed, and it disappeared the next morning-- it is black.. Cannot find it anywhere. Looked under the table, under the sofa, one my dads and knees.. everywhere.. dam.... :bat::bat::bat:

This cat is really causing me a lot of work, and pain, and hurts.. I have a PCP appointment tomorrow. OMG..She is going to see all the scratches and the bites, and tell me to get rid of the cat..She will ask about them-- thinking they are from domestic abuse!! No, it is just my "Cat from Hell".... dam.. IMG_2109.jpeg IMG_2110.jpeg IMG_2107.jpeg
Pictures from yesterday morning.. Yes, Lamb Chop was his "victim".. Picture of him, on the hunt!!
I have to keep that box, because it seems to be his lair. He put Lamb Chop in there, like that. When I saw it, I had to laugh out loud! Yes, Tuxxie can fit in that small box.. He squeezed into it this morning...

That's so funny to read, as Pretty is also obsessed with water. Every time she hears the tap run, she comes running, whether it's the kitchen or bathroom. She sits and waits while I shower, and then hops in as I step out. I also have to be quick to get the toilet lid down! I've accepted that I've lost the battle of keeping her off the kitchen counter, but did manage to block the sinks. Don't think she's happy about that. LOL I'm thinking of a water fountain for her too, but feel she'd just use it as a toy.

I swear he is so smart..
From what you write about him, I agree. He's very smart. And also very handsome.

Ouch. Poor you.

Have you tried putting a blanket or towel on him when he clings to your arm? Just plop it on him.

I'm worried that the spray bottle is just lowering his trust in you and keeping your relationship rocky. He's smart...he knows it's you spraying him.

Is he like this with other people in your home too?

Speaking of towels, if you have an old one you can roll it up and use some tape...make a long kicker.

Or put it down, put some kibble in and roll it, add some more...make him work for the food.

When was his last dewomer? My boys were really restless when they had worms. And always always trying to break into food and getting in trouble looking for food. It can take more than 1 poo sample before the vet finds worms...

You can shut him out of the bathroom when you're in there by closing the bathroom door. Fluff sometimes cannonballs into the bathroom, so when I know he's in the area and gearing up, I just shut the door. Easy fix.
I've used Petco's scoopable unscented litter (So Phresh) for yonks. Never any problem with it. I have it auto-delivered, along with all of my other cat supplies.
I would never tell any "healthcare" personnel anything about my cats. Period. It's none of their business and a lot of them are hostile to cats (and anything/anyone that isn't in agreement with their narrow views, which I absolutely disagree with). My family members are far more important than their opinionated agendas.

Did you find the Firestick yet? He's so mischievous and smart that maybe you can ask him where he put it, lol? Only kidding.
Do you think he could have got it caught in your bi-fold doors that he figured out how to open? Try getting down on the floor with a flashlight, if possible, or maybe he dropped it between the cushions of your sofa or under your bed - just trying to brainstorm. I hope you find the Firestick before he does.

I am ok with him being in the bathroom with me.. I really am. I like having him rubbing my legs.
I will have to tell my PCP because they are bruises and scratches. I do not want her to think I am a domestic violence victim. She knows me.

I live alone. He is sweet with strangers. He knows me, so he takes advantage of me. He has a teddy bear and a dog toy Lamb Chop lamb, to kick with. He knows what they are for. He does not have worms checked out with stool specimen at my Vets... He does not go out, so he would not get worms.

Yes, I am careful with the spray bottle. I alway wait until he is calm, and then go over to kiss or pet him. I tell him he is a good boy when he is calm. Wish he really understood English.. or Ic Ould speak CAT to him.

Funny you should ask... I found it this morning!! I have to take my words back. Tux had nothing to do with it.. It was tightly wedged into my recliner!! I said a prayer to St Anthony on Tuesday--it is "his' day. St Anthony never lets me down. This morning, something told me to look AGAIN very deeply into the sides of the cushion of my recliner--- there it was!! Thank You St Anthony!!

My bifold closet door was open again, this morning! BRAT... I swear he is psycho! or a male SYBIL!!

Or as a friend calls him: Tasmanian Tux..

How long will it take to calm him down, and be nice!! Friday is an official month since I took him home... sigh.. So, 7 weeks since taken off the streets, and 5 weeks since neuter. and one month with me... a lot to have gone through.

We have succeeded with learning to use the tall scratching post, knowing what treats are. learning that Num-Nums are food. Likes to be brushed, up to a point. Is learning to go under covers of bed.. We play with wand toys.
Tux knows his name and Tuxxie.. He has learned to love his cat tree. He loves the tub and sink, and water. He has learned to STOP attacking my feet and legs. He knows that Teddy & Lamb Chop are his attack buddies.

I have learned to watch his eyes for signs of craziness. I have learned that he tests his water before drinking-- does not like much water in his bowl-- spills it. He loves boxes and paper bags.
I have learned that he prefers very little litter in his box..and is slightly fussy about changing litter. It has to be mixed up and have his smell in it.. even then, he will kick it out.. I am trying different litters to see which one is better for both of us.. He has a high sided litter box. I do have a covered box-- never used one in my life. I do not know if Tux would like it or not. He is a kicker. I have learned that Tux is a very smart boy. He loves lying on my desk, either facing out the window or facing in, watching me. Tux is near me on the floor each evening.

Tux is slowly learning it is ok to lie on my lap. not for long, but he is kneading and drooling-- the sucking has stopped. This is on the fleece throw. He now just jumps up..
this morning he jumped on top of my laptop--- just to do so.. and walk across..
Tuxxie still follows me into whatever room I walk into..

Gotta go-- inis getting dark in here.

Slowly, he is learning and you are bonding more deeply with him. It's really been such a short space of time since he was rescued, since he was neutered, and since he joined you. I think you're seeing some good progress.
(BTW: Doesn't apply to Tux, but fleas can come in even through screens! or tiny spaces between doors/windows and frames. We battled them all summer and my cats NEVER go out. I just deworked Fluff because I did see evidence of him having tapeworm. It's maddening to think that this can happen indoors in a clean home. But it can. Insects of various kinds have been very bad this year, for me and for many others. Anyway, glad Tuxie doesn't have any problem in that area.

Lila used to steal my stuff all the time. Hair ties, pens, she'd even knock change off the counter and bat it under something like the refrigerator or stove! She doesn't do it much anymore, and as annoying as it was then I actually kind of miss it.
